Hope you have had a great weekend. We are into a new month. Can you believe it that July is here? Bonus Days are here during July so for every $90 spent (ex shipping) you will earn a $9 coupon which can be spent in August.
I’m sure over the past month you have been enjoying looking at the new catalogue and perhaps shopping from it. Today I’m looking at our project kits which are available in both the Annual Catalogue as well as the Beginner Catalogue. Some of these are all-inclusive project kits which means they include everything you need to complete the projects apart from your choice of adhesive. Others are Gather to Create project kits. For these you will need the accompanying stamp set, ink pads, adhesives and other tools to complete the projects in the kit. The For the Love of Felt Project Kit is one such kit.
This kit drew me with it’s 3D felt flowers and bright and cheery colours as it’s so different to our other kits. The felt flowers are a lovely element which adds so much interest to these projects. With a colour palette of Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lovely Lipstick, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Sahara Sand and Shaded Spruce, these cards create a feeling of fun and happiness.
There are a variety of sentiments in the For the Love of Felt stamp set. This sentiment of ‘you make an ordinary day special’ is sure to brighten someone’s day. The flowers come ready assembled so all you need to do is attach it to your card.
The leaves and yellow flowers come die cut on a sheet so all that needs to be done is pop them out of the sheet of card. These cards are so quick to make. This makes it easy for you to have a nice stash of cards ready for a variety of occasions in a short time.
This is a very easy stamp set to create with and that bunch of leaves is my favourite. It creates maximum impact with little effort. I love the effect of stamping this around the edges to create the border on this card.
Get the kit and the coordinating products to start creating these beautiful cards at home. You could also get some friends together and have a craft get together. I could bring the stamp set and ink pads and you could complete all your kits.
Completed kit gives you 12 cards – 4 each of 3 designs. You can store your cards in the beautiful box the kit comes in. Purchase the kit, stamp set and an adhesive and you will earn yourself a Bonus Days coupon. It’s as easy as that.

I have used a sheet from one of the prettiest papers from the new catalogue on this card. They’re all pretty – I know! The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper has hand painted impressionistic images and I love the artsy look about it.
My card has been inspired by a couple of challenges. Firstly, this sketch from Sunday Stamps. Having a sketch to work with gives you a great starting point to create projects.
To tie in with the Inspire Create Challenge Theme of Embossing I chose to stamp and emboss the Shimmery White cardstock panel in the centre in Black Embossing powder.
I used the floral spray from the Botanical Bliss stamp set for the embossing. This is a lovely sprig which can be used in a variety of ways. I added colour over this with sponge daubers to create an Emboss Resist Technique and I love the blend of colours this has created over the embossing. This was then mounted onto Silver Foil which made the embossed panel pop. Underneath this I added a piece of the new 12’x12′ Perennial Essence Vellum cardstock which comes in So Saffron, Petal Pink and Old Olive. The vellum is a lovely thicker texture and very easy to use on projects as it’s not flimsy.
I used one of the sentiments from the Floral Essence stamp and pleated the organdy ribbon underneath using Tear & Tape to secure it. This created a lovely soft texture on the card.
Check out all the other designs for these challenges by visiting Sunday Stamps and Inspire Create Challenges.
I’ve got a note card set for you today using a lovely set of Scalloped Note Cards and Envelopes from the new cataloue.
Both the envelopes and note cards have a dainty scalloped edging and there are 5 each of Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile. This gives you 20 note cards and envelopes for $14.00 which makes it .70 cents a set.
Decorating these were easy with the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. The colours were just perfect for these note cards. I used the same simple layout on all the cards.
The other day I spent a bit of time fussy cutting several images from these papers. I mixed and matched the birds with my cards today.
I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut my frames. For the bottom layer I first tried Basic Black but felt that was too harsh so opted for Basic Gray and liked this much better as it was a softer look.
First card is Old Olive and I’ve added the lovely floral paper on the base.
This is the Light Pink card and for my die cut square I used Petal Pink which coordinated with the paper I had used for the background. Are you loving the designs on the paper as much as I am?
Terracotta Tile card base but I did my die cut square in Calypso Coral. Can you tell? Someone didn’t read the back of the pack very well!
A Balmy Blue card with a pretty blue bird to match.
The Gingham Gala sequins came in just the right colours to embellish these 4 cards. Stampin’ Up! are spot on for coordination. I used the Itty Bitty Birthdays and Detailed with Love (retired but I had missed moving it out of my currents) stamp sets for the sentiments to cover a variety of occasions.
All products used to create these quick cards are listed below, where you can shop at my online store or contact me to place an order.
For the month of May I have focused on a lovely stamp set called Beautiful You. Ever since it’s release a couple of years ago it has been extremely popular. This is a 2 set stamp set and is filled with motivational and uplifting sentiments. It features some beautiful images of women and with Mother’s day coming up next week what better stamp set to feature this month than this particular set.
I have teamed this up with elements from the Love What You do stamp set. This too has words of encouragement and some great floral images. Together these stamp sets come together to create some fabulous cards this month for the women in our lives. Get this kit and you will be making cards in no time because the design has been thought out, so all you need to do is sit down and get crafting. You can even make Mother’s Day cards using these stamp sets and layouts.

Products Used to Create These Cards
The Classic Garage suite – something for every classic car lover, mechanic, motor head in the family. It’s ideal to create those great masculine cards. I’ve created many projects using this suite and find it has some great sentiments as well. However, when I get a stamp set, I try to picture it in a completely different setting or colour scheme to what is mainly being promoted. This makes me think more creatively and work in different colour schemes, giving me more options with stamp sets.
This classic car spoke ‘pink’ to me. Ok, I know it’s my favourite colour but I also chose it because it was so different to the strong colours which I had been previously working with for this set. I thought I really should create this card especially for the ladies.
I have used the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper as my background. The great part of double sided paper is that it has exactly that – 2 sides. The colour palette of this Designer Series Paper is Basic Black, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla, Whisper White. This Basic Gray muted background would work well with many colours and I loved how it looked with my Flirty Flamingo car.
I layered 2 ribbons together to create an accent on this card. The Glittered Organdy Black ribbon has just that enough sparkle for this card for the lady who loves her cars. The many dies make it easy to create the background with metallic foil.
The sentiment was stamped and punched with the pretty label punch. I created this look by using a shorter piece of cardstock so it squared the top and bottom. Just like us ladies who love our accessories, the metal key is the perfect accessory to complete the look.
A running stream, a shady tree, ferns, hills just make me think of relaxing. I tend to get drawn to any stamps which have images of scenery in them. Peaceful Place was no different.I just love the tranquility that this image evokes. It makes me think of sitting under that tree and enjoying a picnic. Wouldn’t you just love to sit a while and relax there?
For this card I did a lot of water colouring – sitting watching tv and crafting, adding layers of colour until I achieved the colours that I wanted. I enjoy colouring in so this was quite relaxing for me. I’ve been using Stampin’ Blends a lot and it was nice to change it up with Water Colours.
Make sure you use Stazon ink (because it stays on)
when water colouring to ensure colours don’t run.
I mixed Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point for the stream and the hills were coloured in Old Olive with touches of Bermuda Bay added for shading. The sentiment was heat embossed in White and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Scenic stamps are a great way to bring out the artist in you. I am in no way good at drawing but I love colouring in and stamps like Peaceful Place work for me.
