Dressed to Impress Card with Scallop Border Layout

Life is Short … buy the Shoes

Are you a collector of shoes? Do you love the heels or are you a ballet flats person. I am a ballet flats girl but I do like them in different colours and looks. It’s just that I go for comfort. I love this shoe on this card but nowadays I can’t wear any kind of high heel – old age!

The Dressed to Impress Suite is cute, sassy, chic fashionable – all things girly. Perfume, shoes, lipstick, handbags, flowers – all the pretty things.

Patterned Papers with Fashion theme

This is a 5″ square card which is quite simple to create. I’ve used 2 pieces of DSP and split it with a layer of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. What makes it look a little bit fancy is that border from the Magnolia Memory dies. A little bit of colouring, a pretty bow, some sparklies and this lovely card is ready to go.Dressed to Impress, Best Dressed card with Scallop Edge Layout, Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalogue

Sunshine and Tropical Greetings

Sunshine and Tropical Greetings on a warm and sunny Melbourne day!

Hope you are having a happy weekend whatever you may be doing. I know there are times I just want to relax and at other times I feel so accomplished when I get lots done on the weekend. This one’s a working weekend as I prepare for a destash market next weekend. So I am getting organized, decluttering and oh, it feels good.

I’ve got another card with the Tropical Oasis bundle and the Memories & More card pack that is part of the Tropical Oasis Suite. The larger cards are a bit too big for our card bases so I just cut them down to 9.9cm x 14.2cm. The left over is great for decorating the inside of your card.

The flowers were stamped in Saddle Brown ink on Fluid 100 watercolour cardstock. Then I coloured them with Real Red and Daffodil Delight Watercolour pencils. For the leaves I used Old Olive and a touch of Daffodil Delight.

The sentiment is from one of the sticker sheets in the Memories & More card pack and I mounted it with Dimensionals onto the Scallop circle.

A Vintage Change of Heart

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I am loving the From my Heart suite. The heart shaped doilies are a must have for some dainty embellishing. I usually love a doily and these are heart shaped – so sweet.

These doilies come in red and flirty flamingo. From my Heart Suite Over the next week, I’m going to show you some alternative ways to use these. Dress them up or keep it simple – let’s see how these hearts are going to be great on so many projects long after Valentine’s Day is over.

I’ve used the Beautiful Moments stamp set today. With lovely images of women and children I think this set is perfect for all the wonderful women in our lives and would make lovely Mother’s Day cards.

For the heart on today’s card, I flipped it over to the white side. Then I added some stamped field flowers with Versamark. These were stamped randomly and heat embossed in Copper. Adding Crumb Cake sponging on the heart gives it a vintage look.

On the Crumb Cake card base I added a panel of Designer Series Paper from the Botanical Prints Product Medley. This Medley is such great value. You get a stamp set, dies, DSP, embellishments, ribbon – everything for you to get creative.

As an ADDED BONUS – purchase the Botanical Prints Product Medley and I’ll throw in 10 free PDF tutorials for you to start creating. I have done all the measurements, instructions and photos so you can just get to the fun stuff.

The stamped image has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends and I’ve embellished around it with some vellum leaves die cut from the Animal Friends dies. These are all layered on a piece of Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper – a free offering during Sale-A-Bration.

I am loving the soft feel that this card has with the embossing and sponging on the heart doily. Who would guess that it’s red (or is it pink) underneath? Click on any of the images below to go to my Online Shop. There’s lots of fun products that you can get free with any purchase over $90.

Trio of Simple Sketch Japanese Themed Cards

Japanese Temple Handmade card with Power of Hope stamp set

When I first got the Power of Hope bundle I had plenty of use for the Stone embossing folder but I really wasn’t too sure about the stamp set as it really wasn’t my style. However, I started to create with it and I can tell you it is lovely. I love the simple line images and have so many ideas for this set.

I combined this stamp set with the Botanical Prints Medley for a traditional red, black and white colour scheme. For the card above, I used the tree image to create a border along the sides of the card.

On this card I have used a stamp from the Botanical Prints Medley to create the background. I really love how effective simply stamping in black can be. Then I added a pop of colour with a Real Red Stampin’ Blend.

Power of Hope handmade card with Japanese geisha

This layout is great to use up your leftover Designer Series Paper. I find that when I cut a card front from a 6″x6″ piece of paper, I always have a bit leftover. Using DSP as a border frames your stamped image and then add your sentiment just slightly off centre.

Cheerful Koala Card

Happy Australia Day!

What a wonderful country to live in and I am so grateful I am here. This is my land by adoption. I was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Australia when I was 13. I am so grateful for the peace in this beautiful country and for the opportunities that I have here.

To celebrate I thought I’d make this fun card using the cute koala from the Birthday Bonanza Suite which is on Page 32-34 of the Mini Catalogue. It uses the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper and even the koala is from it.

I love the fun colours of this suite and the papers make great birthday cards as they are bright and cheerful. I have fussy cut the koala because I haven’t got the dies as yet. It’s pretty easy to do. However, if you want to stamp this koala in any colour and die cut him then I would suggest that you get the Bonanza Buddies Bundle. Buying this as a bundle will save you 10%.

Tip:
Look out for the starburst with the 10% throughout the catalogue. This indicates a saving of 10% on bundles. (Rather than buying the stamp set and coordinating dies/punches separately)

I used the ‘Direct to Stamp’ colouring technique to create the multi-coloured sentiment.

The metallic bakers twine and sequins which I have used to embellish this card is from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and is one of the freebies you can get with a $90 order.

Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop January 2020 – Sale-A-Bration

Hi Friends,

Today I’m hopping with fellow demonstrators from around the world in the Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop and we are showcasing all things Sale-A-Bration.

Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop, January 2020, Sale-A-Bration

So what is ‘Sale-A-Bration? It’s the biggest Stampin’ Up! promotion of the year. In Australia, for every $90 you spend you receive a free product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. So these are the products you will see highlighted in all our blogs today.

I have chosen the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP for my projects

I coordinated these products with the Peaceful Poppies Elements to add a lovely chic black touch to them. These projects involved a bit of fussy cutting but come 4th of February you don’t need to worry as coordinating dies are available. So no more fussy cutting for this cake image.

The large cake creates a lovely focal point for cards and with the choice of sentiments, it’s suitable for any occasion.

I had a bit of leftover Peaceful Poppies Elements border which I couldn’t bear to throw away so I added it to my gift tag which coordinates with the cards.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you visit again. All products I have used on the projects are listed below. Please stop by all the blog hop participants for more inspiration with your Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Click on the Next button to see what Laura has created for you.
