Step-it-Up-Sunday #41 Butterfly Thank You Card

Welcome to the first edition of Step-it-Up Sunday for 2019. A whole new year ahead of us with so much crafting fun to be had. And what a way to kick it off with the new Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. Have you had a chance to look at these yet? Please contact me to get your copy of these catalogues. You don’t want to miss out on this chance to earn free products.

My project today features the pretty butterflies in the Occasions catalogue. The stamp set has various butterflies with the large and smaller image on the one stamp. So when you stamp you are getting 2 butterflies at the same time. This then coordinates with the punch which punches out both images at the same time. A real time saver. You can colour in the butterflies or you use the additional filler stamps to fill in the images. The stamp and punch, when purchased as a bundle save you 10%, which is fantastic.

In this suite, the first item that drew my attention was the pack of 6’x6′ gingham paper. I love the fresh, bright colours in this pack. It comes with small checks on one side and larger on the other.

The measurements for this card is in inches. I tend to go between inches and centimetres depending on the project. Maybe I’m a little bit strange but it works for me! Do any of you do this too?

Whisper White card base  5′ x 10′ folded in half
Gingham DSP 5′ X 5′

Basic

Balmy Blue Cardstock  4′ x 4′

Stamp the sentiment. Punch out 3 butterflies and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add enamel shapes.

Intermediate

Emboss your Whisper White cardstock which has been cut to 4′ square. Run your sponge brayer over it with Balmy Blue ink. Add a strip of DSP onto 3¼’ square Balmy Blue cardstock. Then round the corners with the Detailed Trio punch. This punch is from the Annual Catalogue and has got to be the most used punch in my collection. Attach this layer onto the embossed layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhere with glue onto Gingham base.

Advanced

Stamp the 3 butterflies in Black and Balmy Blue and punch out. Die cut 2 flourishes.

Tip: As this is an intricate flourish, I run it through about 4 times through the Big Shot, swapping the end which goes through the Big Shot first after a couple of times. This evens out the pressure and helps the die cut evenly.

Arrange the flourishes across the card. I have cut one in half to fit. Then attach the butterflies with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on top of the flourish.

These 3 items will get you on your way to making these cards and will also earn you a free Sale-A-Bration item.

Have a crafty week.

Simple Gift Packaging for Butterfly Elements

My project today packages the Butterfly Elements which is a free Sale-A-Bration product you can get with a $90 purchase. What a lovely gift this would make for a crafty friend or for crafty you.

I have used also used the Sale-A-Bration Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. To punch out the butterfly, cut out a section of the DSP. Then use a post-it-note as a ‘handle’ to help you maneuver it into the punch. This means you won’t waste any of that beautiful paper.

Cut a strip of the Designer Series Paper and wrap it around, attaching it with double sided tape at the join. Add the tag created with the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala DSP layered onto Balmy Blue cardstock. I love the cheerfulness of these 2 colours. Pop on your butterfly with some mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and you have a cute little gift for a friend.

Purchases that total $90 will receive your choice of a free Sale-A-Bration Level 1 item. There are also products available for a $180 purchase (Level 2 item) There is no limit to the number of items you can choose. So if you spend $180 you can either choose 2 x Level 1 items or 1 x Level 2 item.
