Hi everyone,

Thank you for joining me for today’s Step-it-Up Sunday. I am using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set which which has been around for nearly 20 years. So it’s a favourite  of many – me included. This is such a versatile set in that it can be used for ladies, men, sympathy – any occasion really. The tree images are so beautiful and natural. A couple of the images make great Christmas trees as well. I’ve teamed it with the Hold on to Hope stamp set for the sentiment. This would make a lovely sympathy card or just a note to say ‘I’m here for you’ or ‘Thinking of You’.

Instructions and dimensions are listed. I hope you give one of these cards a try and would love to hear from you with your comments.

Have a lovely week.

Love,

Rochelle

Advanced

Lovely as a Tree. Stampin’ Up, SU, Stamping Flair, Rochelle The Advanced card adds the reflection technique. This is a rather simple technique which gives really great results. I have also created a rectangle using the square Stitched Framelits die.

  • Cut a 7x11cm panel from Very Vanilla CS
  • Place the die on the Big Shot platform with the bottom edge off the platform so this doesn’t cut through. Run it through the Big Shot. The die will cut partially leaving the other end uncut.

Align the die to the cut portion and then run it through your Big Shot and this will give you the large rectangle.  This is a great way to extend the use of your dies.

  • To create the tree with the different inks, mask off the trunk. Ink the tree in Old Olive ink and add Shaded Spruce with a sponge dauber. This is a new colour and will be available 1st June for purchase. Not long to go! Take off the washi tape and take your Early Espresso ink pad direct to the stamp and you have your coloured tree.

Reflection Technique
  • Stamp the tree as above onto a piece of window sheet and place beneath the other stamped image. Press firmly and rub with finger or bone folder ove the image so it transfers as a reflection. Image will be lighter because of the transferring.
