A brand new working week with lots more Sketchtember challenge fun. For Day 5 I’m using the limited release Apple Blossom Dies. These dies are part of the Stampin’ Up! Perfect Partners promotion which is on this month. There are 6 new dies which have been released which coordinate with stamp sets from the Annual and Mini catalogues. I had a lot of fun colouring this image with a mix of Watercolour Pencils. I used Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso and Cajun Craze. Then I die cut the image. The Apple Blossom Dies include several extra dies to enhance your projects with. That scalloped border is very useful too.

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads in our world. It’s nice to have a day set aside to honour these special men in our lives and to also remember those who are no longer with us. Of course, my Sketchtember Challenge card for Day 4 had to be a Father’s Day card.

I’m also joining in with the Just Add Ink Challenge #619 which is a masculine theme and fit perfectly for today.
I was inspired by Susan Wong’s demonstration at the Crafty Carrot Co. to alter the colour of this DSP. I’ve used Bermuda Bay ink, blending it around the sides with a Blending Brush. This theme of the beach and surfboard was picked with my partner Adrian in mind. He loves the water and is very much an outdoors guy. I always find it easier to create a card when I have a person in mind I’m making it for – it’s the personal touch which you sure don’t get from a store bought card.
I used elements from the He’s the Man die cuts which are part of the Designer Series Paper. To tone the campvervan in with the background, I coloured the original image, which was Mint Macaron, with a Coastal Cabana Watercolour Pencil and added some shading with Basic Gray. The centre portion was coloured in Balmy Blue. I added Daffodil Delight with Calypso Coral highlights in the window to match the scene behind.
The tree stamps were coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped. I used 2 shades of colours to highlight the trunk and leaves of the trees.
At the bottom of the die cut circle is another element from the DSP pack which was the torn edge strip. I added this to the bottom of my stamped piece of Cardstock and die cut the circle. Some Daffodil Delight and Pale Papaya were blended around the trees.
I’ve had fun creating this brighter look with the Hes the Man DSP and I love the way it works with the Paradise Palms stamp set too.

I’ve just received the Lovely & Lasting bundle and I’ve created my first card with it for Day 3 of my Sketchtember Challenge. It’s nice to be able to play with different stamp sets and bundles while playing with these sketches and I hope you play along with me as we celebrate my birthday month together.
This stamp set has a beautiful antique feel and this larger image creates a lovely bold focal point for a card. The bundle includes the coordinating Lasting Label punch which I haven’t used on this project.
I stamped the entire floral imagein Soft Succulent and then stamped the flowers in Sweet Sorbet and Cajun Craze on scrap cardstock. When inking the Sweet Sorbet flowers I added some Cherry Cobbler on the stamp to definte the centre before stamping.
The flowers were fussy cut and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This layer was matted onto Cajun Craze Cardstock to coordinate with the smaller flowers.
I blended Night of Navy ink over the edges of my card base of Night of Navy to create depth. The added layer of the Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper in the same colour makes those floral images pop against the background. Those cute butterflies are on sale this week so get a kaleidoscope of them. Being adhesive backed, I just love popping them on my floral projects.

For Day 2 of my birthday Sketchtember Challenge, I’ve created a cute Christmas card with the Sweetest Candy bundle.
Using the large check mask from the Artistic Mix masks I blended Mint Macaron on Basic White Cardstock. Then I moved the mask a little bit and added Garden Green which created a cute dual tone check pattern. On top of this, I stamped some leaves in Mint Macaron before die cutting the Stitched Rectangle.
I used another one of the masks to apply Versamark to add the Gilded Leafing. By using a mask it gives a more natural look without harsh edges to the Leafing.

I’ve used Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils to colour in this image from the Shaded Summer stamp set. The Coordinating dies and the beautiful Splendid Day Specialty DSP are on sale for ONE WEEK ONLY.
The die cut flowers add some lovely detail against the coloured image. Of course the sentiment had to be Happy Birthday to kick off Sketchtember.
