At first, the seeming clash of Starry Sky and Gorgeous Grape of Colour Palette #26 had me scratching my head. I started with a beautiful bold, Stary Sky flower from the Modern Garden stamp set and the rest fell into place with a sketch.
The base layer was stamped in Starry Sky, stamped off and the centre layer was stamped in full strength. With just one ink pad you can achieve varying shades using the stamping-off technique.
Wild Wheat – now that’s a colour that some may not like but I quite like the golden shades of it and against the Gorgeous Grape it comes up really beautiful. I’ve incorporated a Mossy Meadow banner die cut from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.
Some Wild Wheat ink blending on the circle with a few small flowers and leaves fills in the die cut circle. I added some pearls Starry Sky pearls to tie in with the flower.

For Colouur Palette #24 I’ve used the beautiful Translucent Florals bundle from Stampin’ Up! to create some lovely red flowers against a soft Pool Party background. This stamp set is a rather unusual part of our collection with the unique look of the flowers – which is what I love about it.
The Pool Party sheet of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper provides a tone on tone textured look for these pretty flowers. I incorporated Daffodil Delight with a mask for a soft background.
A textured border formed with the Timber Embossing Folder holds the sentiment and the stem. I hope you are loving the inspiration created using these colour palettes. If you haven’t ordered this set, you could add it to a Starter Kit right now and get some extra value until 31st October. Check out the details below.
Welcome to our New at SU Blog Hop for October. Our theme this month is a sketch inspiration using some new product from the Stampin’ Up! September – December Mini Catalogue. There are many ways to interpret this theme and for lots of inspiration, make sure you follow our hop all the way through.
I’ve chosen the Translucent Florals bundle and paired it with one of our special release Designer Series Papers. The Delightful Floral DSP is 1 of 5 papers that are a special release which are available while supplies last. This pack is just my style with florals and pinks it was quickly added to my collection. It perfectly coordinates with the Translucnet Florals bundle.
To create the flower I die cut a set of petals from Basic White Cardstock and the same set from Vellum. The Basic White layer was blended with Berry Burst ink and then layered with the vellum for a soft look. The centre was die cut from the DSP.
The leaves were inked up in Parakeet Party and then I added Pretty Peacock on the tips with a Sponge Dauber to create the variegated look.
The main part of the sketch was formed with DSP and a blended embossed panel. This was separated by a label which was die cut from the DSP using the Christmas Classics Dies.
Butterflies and one of my favourite products, Black Gingham ribbon (because it just works with so many projects!) complete this card.
Last night on my FB Live I created another card using this sketch and the Modern Garden bundle. Watch the video below.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy all the wonderful inspiration from our team.

I’ve got a pretty floral card today using the Inked & Tiled stamp set. I’ve stamped the image in some bright colours and I really liked the colour combo on this.
The card itself is quite simple in design. I’ve used the Radiating Stitches dies which are an out of catalogue product and you can find it in our Online Store.
To step it up I added some layering behind the sentiment including a border created from some shells in the Seaside Bay dies. You can find a list of products to create this card at the bottom of this post. If you want any other information, please get in touch with me. Products can be mailed anywhere in Australia.
Stay tuned for some fabulous offers coming your way tomorrow.
This card was inspired by a card I saw one of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team members create. I loved the colours and the watercolour effect on it.
This is a really fun and easy technique to replicate and creates beautiful results. Using Stampin’ Write Markers I coloured directly on the stamp. As these markers are water based, the stamp will easily clean off after this process. Huff on the stamp with your breath to activate the ink and stamp the image on the label.
Spritzing the label lightly with water before and after stamping gives the image the watercoloured look.
The striped Pebbled Path Designer Series Paper provides a neutral background to bring out the beauty of these flowers. Did you know we have standard packs of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers in each of our colour ranges?
Each pack has the same 4 patterns. So a total of 50 colours to coordinate with any project. These are particularly great for when you want something to tone in and not too busy yet with a bit of a pattern.
If you would like to create this card you can contact me for details and I’d be happy to help you.
I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and if you are in Australia you are likely to be enjoying some family time. I hope the special men in your family enjoy a very happy Father’s Day.
The vintage truck from the Trucking Along stamp set was perfect against this background. To colour it, I used a technique which I learned during one of our demonstrator events a couple of months ago where we were shown how to create the look of a rusty old ute.
CREATING THE TRUCK
Stamp truck in Saddle Brown Stazon ink on Fluid 100 Paper
Using a Water Painter add Wild Wheat ink in sections
Once dry, add Pecan Pie
Once dry, add Tahitian Tide
Pooling the water in sections will make the colours run creating the look of rust. However don’t over do it as you don’t want the colours to become muddy. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process between colour applications.
The background created with the Rays of Light stamp set was inked with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. When using a large background stamp, place the stamp face up and ink it then take the paper down to it. Press firmly and rub over it to ensure the ink transfers fully.
To take away the starkness of the white background I lightly blended Pumpkin Pie ink around the rays using a Blending Brush.
Some fussy cut clouds were added to create this mini scene. The rust look was carried through to the banners which were die cut from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.

I am off to celebrate Father’s Day with my daughter who insisted on taking me out today as I’ve been doing a double-role of mum and dad. I’m looking forward to a really fun day and spending time with Cassidy. If you follow me on the socials or subscribe to my newsletter, you’re sure to see some photos!
