Hi friends,
So good to have you stop by Stamping Flair today. How are you doing? I especially think of those of you who have had a hard week. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Today’s project would make a great encouragement token to give someone who may be going through a bit of a rough patch. I’m sure whenever they see this pretty bookmark their spirits would be lifted to know they have a friend who cares.
Step-up a bookmark? Oh yes you can. All of these versions would make great little gifts for anyone. Handmade, cute, pretty and delicate. I have used the Botanical Bliss bundle for this project which I received in my last order. It’s already a favourite. I love that the tag toppers can also be die cut to use as images by themselves (stick with me, I’ll explain further on what I mean).
Basic
- Cut Thick Whisper White cardstock to a width of 5cm and whatever length you like
- Place the floral die on the top of your bookmark and run through the Big Shot machine
- Round the bottom corners with the Detailed Trio punch
- Stamp the vine in Soft Sea Foam all the way down the bookmark (I just gauged the distance between each vine).
Side note – I am loving this vine stamp.
- Add double sided tape and attach ribbon right around bookmark Tie bow separately and attach with a glue dot – it’s much easier this way.
- Stamp sentiment in Call me Clover
Intermediate
- Stamp bird in Pineapple Punch on Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Take a piece of Wood Textures DSP and colour with Pineapple Punch ink using a sponge dauber. Attach to the back of the flower with liquid glue.
- Repeat above step for leaves using Soft Sea Foam and a little bit of Call me Clover
- The attaching of the paper at the back leaves a messy back so attach a piece of Whisper White cardstock at the back to neaten and trim around the edge of the flower.
Advanced
- Die cut 3 flowers from Whisper White cardstock and attach together with liquid glue and then attach on top of the bookmark
The benefit of this die is that it has a matching die which cuts the bottom section where the leaves are, so that the flower and leaves can be added to a project separately (see photo below). This is what I was referring to earlier.
- Use Brusho Crystal colours Yellow and Moss Green to add colour to a small piece of Shimmery White cardstock which has been die cut. Layer this onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
Die cut and punch leaves and arrange under the bird
This is quite a cheerful project with it’s bright colours. I have a friend in mind who I’d like to give it to. You could make a few and give it ‘just because’. Contact me if you have any questions or comments and I would love to chat with you.

When I look at our range of Designer Series Paper, I see many different occasions that each one can be used for. The advantage of using double sided paper is the option of 2 sides and if 1 side relates to a particular season or suite, usually the other side is fairly general.
Today’s project uses the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper This is a promotional paper which can be earned free during the month of September with party sales or purchases of $400 prior to shipping. I have used both sides of one sheet to decorate this mini pizza box.
To add colour to the entire box I sprayed it using an aqua painter which was filled with water and a few drops of Daffodil Delight ink refill. I did this before I put the box together. Leave it to dry and then fold all the score lines. The box folds in easily.
The flower was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured it in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I’ve layered it on a piece of Tea Room DSP and the new Black Foil from the Holiday catalogue. This has been embossed with the Leaf embossing folder. The centre of the flower was coloured with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend and then topped with a Tinted Faceted Button. As the button is transparent, I really wanted the colour to show. When you add the colour to the centre of the flower it makes the colour of the button stand out.
The leaves were punched out using the Lemon Builder punch on the side of the DSP which has the stars on it.
Hope this project inspires you to try out new ways with your Designer Series Paper.

Hello Everyone,
How are you all doing today? I trust your week has gone well and you are keeping well.
For today’s Step-it-Up Sunday I am focusing on a birthday gift package idea. I’ve gone with the birthday theme because it’s my birthday this week and I thought it would be a bit of fun to do something with the Lustrous White Mini Gable Boxes. These were new to the Annual Catalogue this year and were an addition to the Silver ones we had from the Occasions catalogue last year. I have had this pack for a while and opened it to complete this project. I missed the ‘lustrous’ bit and thought it was just white but these boxes have a beautiful shimmery look so you could put a ribbon and sentiment and gift it without doing much to it. The look is classic.
Basic
I have used the Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper on this project. I just got it in my last order and I tell you it’s one of those items that is so much better seeing the real thing. The paper is beautiful and it has a look of glamour in it. I will feature it in projects in the coming weeks. Very classy and great for men’s cards too.
To decorate this box you need a length of 12″ paper cut at a width of 1½”. This is a little bit shorter than the length of the box but attach it so that the join is in the front. The punched circles from the DSP and Basic Black cardstock hide the join.
For the sentiment, I worked in reverse this time. I first punched the tag shape from the Duet Banner punch. Then take your sentiment and manipulate it a little to give it a slight curve and then stamp the image. This is the beauty of photopolymer stamps – you can adjust them a little bit.
To keep this nice and simple, tie off your ribbon in a double knot – not a bow in sight!
Intermediate
The Intermediate level has been stepped-up with some stamping with the Star of Light stamp set. This is a Christmas stamp set with some lovely sentiments and images but there are images that can cross over to birthdays and other occasions. I really love the flourish with the little stars and that’s what has been used here along with little ‘fireworks’ look stamp in black. Stamp the flourish alternately so you have some going upwards and others facing downwards.
Add a border from another sheet of the same DSP and this ties in with your stamped stars. Top off your bow with a cute Binder Clip in Lovely Lipstick.
Advanced
Add some heat embossed stars in Lovely Lipstick to add some extra texture to this gift pack. Stampin’ Up does have a pack of the 2018-2020 In-Color Embossing Powders. However I don’t have them yet so the way to get around this is with a Versamark pad and your Lovely Lipstick ink pad. Ink up the stamp in Versamark pad and then directly into the Lovely Lipstick ink pad and then stamp. Keep repeating this step. In between each stamping, I stamped off the excess Lovely Lipstick on scrap paper. It will still stain your Versamark ink pad and that’s why I have 2 of them – one clean and the other not so clean.
Lovely Lipstick ribbon and Sequin Trim have been added to the Mini Binder Clip. These are held together with glue dots. Fussy cut a party hat and attach with a mini Stampin’ Diminesional and attach a sequin with a glue dot.
Hope you have a good week with some creative therapy included.

The Santa bag is probably my favourite item in the Signs of Santa suite. It was in my first shop from the Holiday catalogue. These cute sacks can be stamped on, decorated and filled with any number of things like lollies, chocolates (a few Lindor balls will fit in there), guest soaps, some Stampin’ Up! embellishments perhaps? Wouldn’t that be fun? A mixed bag of embellishments, like a mixed bag of lollies – only better!
I have decorated this very simply and quickly using the Dashing Deer bundle and Dashing Along Designer Series Paper. It’s held together with a cute star paper clip. The All is Bright paper clips come in a mixed pack of 20 with Christmas trees and stars.
This is my type of gift bag
These would make great teacher appreciation gifts. Everyone loves a beautifully packaged gift.

I know many of you love to scrapbook and have a lot of experiencing doing this. I struggle to get photos in an album let alone scrapbook with them! In the past I have dabbled with a few scrapbook layouts to create newborn baby gifts.
The project I undertook a couple of weeks ago was much more involved and I put a lot of my heart into it because it was around my daughter. This photo was taken at her cousin’s wedding in Tasmania earlier this year and I just love her simple, natural look here.
I used several products on this layout including the Blended Seasons bundle and products from the Tea Room Suite. The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper worked in so well with the colours of Cassidy’s dress. I tore the edge and dabbed it with Soft Suede ink to give it a distressed look.
Behind the photo I’ve added added a die cut from the Stitched All Around dies. Several flowers were stamped and coloured in Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. These are quite quick to fussy cut. I then die cut leaves from the Blended Seasons dies, cut them apart and arranged around the flowers.
The Olive green panels are from the Tea Room Memories and More Card Pack and I’ve also added some Wood Twxture DSP which has been matted onto Soft Suede cardstock.
I really love the sentiment as it expressed exactly what Cassidy is – a blessing in my life. It’s from the Very Vintage Hostess set and has been embellished with a Copper Vinyl sticker which is also from the Tea Room Suite.
The Blended Seasons bundle is only available until 31st August. It’s a set that covers all seasons and you will get a lot of use out of it. I know I have been creating a lot with it. If you love it now is the time to get it before this promotion runs out plus every $90 spent in August earns you a $9 Bonus Days coupon. This can be spent in September so you get extra value with your purchase. Please contact me with any questions or feedback.

As promised, I’m going to be showing you our fun Christmas and holiday themed products over the course of the next couple of weeks prior to the Holiday catalogue release. I am so excited to be able to share these gorgeous products with you. My mind is bursting with ideas and I want to try them all out so please make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on any of the fun we are going to have.
The product suite I’m sharing today is the Farmhouse Christmas suite and it is my favourite in the catalogue. It is so ‘me’ and it brings the warmth and homely feel of the Christmas season in all of it’s products.
There’s the stamp set with a farmhouse, truck carrying a freshly cut Christmas tree, a tree which has shed it’s leaves, falling leaves, a teeny tiny wreath and several sentiments. There are several dies to match, including stitched label dies.
Then there is a super cute distressed tin which you can decorate. It will fit several standard sized cards and would be great for gift giving.
The Galvanized buttons and Festive Farmhouse elements are great for embellishing as is the Burlap ribbon. There is also a 3 pack of cotton twine in Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla.
The Designer Series Paper has some wood grain effect, stripes and check backgrounds. Some sheets are with Whisper White while the others are Very Vanilla so you can change it up.
Another item in this suite is a Corrugated Embossing Folder. I think this is a great addition to our folders. It looks so good. I used it on my first project with the Holiday Catalogue, which was decorating the tin. Do you love the look of the Corrugated Embossing Folder?
I coloured the truck in Water Colour pencils. A reminder that the Assortment 2 of the Water Colour pencils is only available during August so if you love colouring in, then order them while you can.
Would you like a copy of the Holiday catalogue to browse through or need further information on products? Please contact me and I’d love to assist you in your crafting.
