This rooster from the Home to Roost stamp set definitely reminds us to enjoy the simple moments in life. I think of a warm and inviting country home with chooks and fresh air when I see this image.
I used the tin foil embossing folder on copper foil. Then I applied Jet Black Stazon ink over it followed by Early Espresso, Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. It was a version of the Tarnished Foil technique. This was what I started with and then I worked out my coordinating colours.
The rooster has been stamped with Early Espresso and die cut. Then I stamped over this with the Crackle background stamp using Crumb Cake ink which has been stamped off once. I liked the aged look this gave the whole card. I was tossing up between Cherry Cobbler and Tranquil Tide as the ‘other’ colour. The Tranquil Tide I think, works well against the copper background.
A combination of embellishments adds to the country charm of this rooster. The Tranquil Tide ribbon is currently on the Clearance Rack and a bargain at $4.90 for 9.1 metres.
