I’ve got a bright and fun card to share with today. The Lovely Lipstick foil which I have used on this card is a Sale-A-Bration item. The pack comes with 4 sheets each of Lovely Lipstick and Grapefruit Grove foil. I embossed it with the Swirls and Curls embossing folder. However instead of using the embossing side of the folder I accidentally used the debossed side of the folder and chose to go with it. Still adds the look of depth but in a different way. How many times have you found that mistakes aren’t really mistakes in crafting.They are inventions and ways for us to get even more creative.
I used some simple stamping from the Amazing Life stamp set and fussy cut the flower to create interest to the sentiment panel. The Stitched Rectangles are part of the Amazing Life bundle and you can save 10% buy purchasing it as a bundle. It comes with 13 nesting dies and is a set that I find reaching out for so many times. There are so many ways to use it as mattes or as frames and it just adds such a lovely touch with the stitching.

It’s really nice to have you here and if it’s your first time, a special welcome. Today’s card uses another of my Top 5 sets which is the Let it Ride stamp set. I love the horses in it and there are some encouraging sentiments to use on cards.
Basic
I’ve used Old Olive as my card base and stamped the trees in Old Olive ink. The horse has been stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock and the sentiment in Cajun Craze. The strips of paper have been extended to wrap around the back to give a neat finish.
Intermediate
To step this up, I coloured in the horse with Stampin’ Blends. Each time I use my Blends I love how simple they are to use. Even the beginner can master this in no time. I also punched out the sentiment and layered it to add some extra colour and dimension.
Advanced
This background was created with Brushos – Moss Green. I had forgotten how much fun it was to use it. Once dry, I stamped the trees in Old Olive. Then I embossed the Crackle in White embossing powder. A little bit crazy about this crackle stamp. I remember the days I used to do some folk art and using crackle medium to achieve this effect. This is much quicker!
I distressed the edges with Soft Suede and Cajun Craze for an aged look.
I could see this in a nice frame as a gift for someone as It’s got that homely look about it.

Happy Valentine’s day!
What a beautiful sentiment this is for Valentine’s day or any other day to give your loved one. As I write this, I think of my parents, who are passed away. They were married for 39 years. I also think of Adrian’s Mum and Dad who were married for 54 years. His Dad still talks about his mum with so much love. Isn’t it beautiful to share such a love for so many years?
I just love the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and here it is again. The Balmy Blue picks up on the Balmy Blue Flowers in the All My Love paper. I created some layers and frames with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.
I made a wash with a few drops of rubbing alcohol and Flirty Flamingo ink refill. Using an aqua painter, I brushed this on Shimmery White cardstock. If you haven’t purchased rubbing alcohol before, here’s a photo of what it looks like. 
When I went to purchase this bottle, I did a few trips up and down the aisles and eventually found it in the medicine aisle.
Once dry, I heat embossed the leaves in white embossing powder and die cut them. I really like the non-green leaves.
I thread the ribbon through the die cut sentiment. The smaller ribbon worked perfectly for this. Do you love this look as much as I do?

With Valentine’s Day only a couple of days away, I’ve got an emergency Valentine’s card if you haven’t made one yet. This is suited for the person who is not partial to the reds and pinks. I’ve gone green today and really like the look of this non-traditional card for Valentine’s day. What’s more, it’s a gate fold card so you can create a quick card which is also a fancy fold the recipient will love.
Gate Fold Card Directions
Cardstock – 21cm x 14.8cm
Score on the long side at 5.2cm and 15.8cm
Designer Paper – 14.2cm x 4.6cm (2 panels)
I chose the Tropical Escape Designer Paper against the Pear Pizzazz card base. The colours blend so well together. The gold elements in this card are from the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers which were from last year’s Occasions catalogue. These are retired but the good news is that they are on the Clearance Rack and you can get them for just $4.90. There are some really lovely items on that Clearance Rack at some great prices so definitely check them out to grab a bargain.
I adhered the heart sticker to Very Vanilla cardstock. Although I did have the die to cut this out, I fussy cut it for this card. I also added some sticker borders to the Shaded Spruce cardstock. To make the 2 sides of the card sit together, I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies and embossed with the Subtle embossing folder which really gives it texture without being too busy.
A simple stamped sentiment in the corner and the card is ready to give for Valentine’s day. I think this is perfect to give a man as it’s not too girly (I’ve kept it ribbon and doily free!) and with the leaves and green shades it’s more masculine.
