Happy Australia Day!
What a wonderful country to live in and I am so grateful I am here. This is my land by adoption. I was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Australia when I was 13. I am so grateful for the peace in this beautiful country and for the opportunities that I have here.
To celebrate I thought I’d make this fun card using the cute koala from the Birthday Bonanza Suite which is on Page 32-34 of the Mini Catalogue. It uses the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper and even the koala is from it.
I love the fun colours of this suite and the papers make great birthday cards as they are bright and cheerful. I have fussy cut the koala because I haven’t got the dies as yet. It’s pretty easy to do. However, if you want to stamp this koala in any colour and die cut him then I would suggest that you get the Bonanza Buddies Bundle. Buying this as a bundle will save you 10%.
Tip:
Look out for the starburst with the 10% throughout the catalogue. This indicates a saving of 10% on bundles. (Rather than buying the stamp set and coordinating dies/punches separately)
I used the ‘Direct to Stamp’ colouring technique to create the multi-coloured sentiment.

I coordinated these products with the Peaceful Poppies Elements to add a lovely chic black touch to them. These projects involved a bit of fussy cutting but come 4th of February you don’t need to worry as coordinating dies are available. So no more fussy cutting for this cake image.

I had a bit of leftover Peaceful Poppies Elements border which I couldn’t bear to throw away so I added it to my gift tag which coordinates with the cards.

This Tulip card commenced at On Stage in November – an event where thousands of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators get together in various locations around the world to be inspired by new products and create fun things. Well, I was the naughty student who didn’t get all her projects completed! The Whisper White stamped panel with the tulips was in my box of goodies from On Stage. So I thought I better complete it instead of adding it to my pile of UFOs (unfinished objects).
I’ve changed the colour scheme and added some embellishments to create a bit of a different look to the original which had an Old Olive card base. I quite like the freshness that the Coastal Cabana brings to it. This card is so quick to make with the punches. I am such a fan of punches if you want quick cards. The Tulip builder punch includes the flower and the leaf to make your cardmaking easy.

I started making cards with this kit and I just couldn’t stop. I had so many ideas and I love the paper. There are so many ways to use it. Some sheets have images of fruit and others flowers. One side is coloured while the other is Black and White and this makes it extra good for combining with many projects.
My card today shows how you can use the various patterns of the Designer Series Paper included in this pack. The busy pattern in the background is offset by the black and white stripe pattern in the centre.

I’m loving the Tropical Oasis suite and have been creating cards using different techniques. This card uses a simple layout with a few colours to create a friendship card.
This card was really quick to make using a very easy colouring technique to add some colour to the palm tree.
I used Stampin’ Write Markers to colour directly onto the rubber of the stamp. I love these markers as they come in every colour in our ink pad range, there is a pen and brush side so you have more control over your colouring and being water based the stamps clean up easily after use.
Once the image is coloured with the Markers, just ‘huff’ on the stamp and the breath will activate the ink. Stamp as normal on your cardstock. This is a fun and quick way to add colour to your images. I even added shading to my leaves with 2 colours. The sentiment has been stamped on a bit of scrap Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card I had leftover.
