Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday final blog hop for 2022. As the year comes to a close and we embark on a new year, our theme of Something New, Something Old is very fitting. We’re especially focusing on something we haven’t used in our stash.
Now, I do have stamp sets from our Annual catalogue which are yet to be inked up but I couldn’t go past using something from the upcoming January – April Catalogue for my new product. The By the Bay suite had me as I opened the catalogue. I have a fondness for all sets that are beachy and this suite was the first product I purchased from this catalogue.
The By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper provides my background and it is just stunning with it’s Gold and Pearl Foil detail.
The Basic Borders Dies create the waves. I die cut 2 sets – one in Basic White and one in Coastal Cabana which I blended with Night of Navy ink.
A sentiment heat embossed in Gold on Vellum adds softness to this card without detracting from the pretty paper.
I hope you have enjoyed this card using a sneak peek from the new catalogue and that it inspires you to use a yet-to-be-used product on your next creation.
You will be able to order the products from the By the Bay suite starting 5th January or you can add it to a Starter Kit today.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting me in Melbourne. Next on our trip Around the World is the wonderfully talented Cheryll Miller.

When I saw the colour challenge for the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge I immediately thought of summer. Living in Melbourne, we generally get to have a warm Christmas and I chose to feature the Sunkissed stamp set.
This stamp set is perfect for our Aussie Christmases with it’s beachy images. I repeatedly stamped the small shell image on Shimmer White Cardstock. Then I did some simple watercolouring with our challenge colours of Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight. This formed a border for my slimline card.
For the top half of the card, I chose a large sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set which was heat embossed in White. Some gold ribbon was added to make this card a little more festive whilst looking summery.
The Sunkissed stamp set is on our Last Chance List which is effective 1st December. If you love it then add it to your order today. Last Chance products are only available while supplies last.

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads in our world. It’s nice to have a day set aside to honour these special men in our lives and to also remember those who are no longer with us. Of course, my Sketchtember Challenge card for Day 4 had to be a Father’s Day card.
If it’s your first time visiting my blog, the Sketchtember challenge is my way of celebrating my birthday month with a sketch challenge each day of September. So please join in #sketchtemberchallenge
I’m also joining in with the Just Add Ink Challenge #619 which is a masculine theme and fit perfectly for today.
I was inspired by Susan Wong’s demonstration at the Crafty Carrot Co. to alter the colour of this DSP. I’ve used Bermuda Bay ink, blending it around the sides with a Blending Brush. This theme of the beach and surfboard was picked with my partner Adrian in mind. He loves the water and is very much an outdoors guy. I always find it easier to create a card when I have a person in mind I’m making it for – it’s the personal touch which you sure don’t get from a store bought card.
I used elements from the He’s the Man die cuts which are part of the Designer Series Paper. To tone the campvervan in with the background, I coloured the original image, which was Mint Macaron, with a Coastal Cabana Watercolour Pencil and added some shading with Basic Gray. The centre portion was coloured in Balmy Blue. I added Daffodil Delight with Calypso Coral highlights in the window to match the scene behind.
The tree stamps were coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped. I used 2 shades of colours to highlight the trunk and leaves of the trees.
At the bottom of the die cut circle is another element from the DSP pack which was the torn edge strip. I added this to the bottom of my stamped piece of Cardstock and die cut the circle. Some Daffodil Delight and Pale Papaya were blended around the trees.
I’ve had fun creating this brighter look with the Hes the Man DSP and I love the way it works with the Paradise Palms stamp set too.
I hope you enjoy your day with your loved ones and have a wonderful week ahead.
It’s my birthday month and with every $50 you spend or every class you order during September, your name will be entered in the drawing to win a hamper valued at $200 from me. Winner will be drawn on 2nd October.
Hi friends, So glad you are here to visit me in Melbourne for the New at SU Blog Hop. We are sharing projects featuring products from our January-June Mini Catalogue.
The Paradise Palms bundle was one of the first products I ordered from this catalogue. I just love the tropical feel of this set.
I combined this bundle with the beautiful Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper. The trees were die cut from Basic White cardstock and then added Just Jade, Old Olive and Soft Suede.
I coloured some of the White Faux Sea Glass shapes with a Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with the die cut border.
I hope you have been inspired by my card. Scroll down to view a list of products I’ve used . Thank you for stopping by and please leave me a comment and click on the Next button to follow onto Heather Cooper’s blog for more inspiration.

I’ve got a card for the guys today, inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I picked up the Sailing Home stamp set that has been around for a little while now to create my main images. For those of you who know me, most times, I will get those beachy sets in our catalogues as I love working with them.
My card began with a piece of scrap I had leftover after creating my Card Club cards for this month. The white cardstock embossed with the Bark embossing folder became the vertical strip on my card.
I scraped the edges of this strip along the Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy pastels to create the coloured border.
The compass was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in White on the background. Then I added Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy Pastels over it with my Blending Brush. This was blended on the bottom left and top right for continuity.
I stamped the anchor in Bermuda Bay and edged with the Night of Navy pastel to create the two-tone effect. The rope was die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock to coordinate with the Crumb Cake mat I added under the main layer.
The sentiment was heat embossed on Pacific Point cardstock as the Night of Navy pastel when applied, had a more vibrant tone as that of Pacific Point. Poppy Parade sails add a pop of colour to make this card have a marine look.
The Crumb Cake layer was mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add more depth.
