Apple Harvest for Just Add Ink #617
My card today is one that just makes me feel warm and cozy – I think it’s the combination of apples and gingham that somehow evokes these feelings.
I’ve created this for the Just Add Ink Challenges – Choose Two from Gingham, Dots and Die Cuts. I have picked Ginham and Die Cuts.
The apple has been die cut from a brand new, yet-to-be-released die which coordinates with the Apple Harvest stamp set. The Apple Blossoms Dies will be available for purchase on the 1st of September. You will want to add these to your collection as they have so many bits and pieces to coordinate with this stamp set and… there is a beautiful scalloped die for edging.
I watercoloured the apple with Sweet Sorbet, So Saffron, Parakeet Party, Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede ink. Then I added some extra shading on the leaves with an Old Olive Watercolor Pencil and Early Espresso around the stem. Watercolouring is a quick way to add colour to your images and so much fun.
For my gingham element I first chose the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper which is part of our In-Color Pack. I love how this adds to the country charm of this card. Then I also added a piece of Basic White which has been embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder. Until the 31st August, you can choose this as a free product when you spend $90 in store.
