New at SU Blog Hop – Translucent Florals

Welcome to our New at SU Blog Hop for October. Our theme this month is a sketch inspiration using some new product from the Stampin’ Up! September – December Mini Catalogue. There are many ways to interpret this theme and for lots of inspiration, make sure you follow our hop all the way through.

New at SU Header 2023-2024

I’ve chosen the Translucent Florals bundle and paired it with one of our special release Designer Series Papers. The Delightful Floral DSP is 1 of 5 papers that are a special release which are available while supplies last. This pack is just my style with florals and pinks it was quickly added to my collection. It perfectly coordinates with the Translucnet Florals bundle.

To create the flower I die cut a set of petals from Basic White Cardstock and the same set from Vellum. The Basic White layer was blended with Berry Burst ink and then layered with the vellum for a soft look. The centre was die cut from the DSP.

The leaves were inked up in Parakeet Party and then I added Pretty Peacock on the tips with a Sponge Dauber to create the variegated look.

The main part of the sketch was formed with DSP and a blended embossed panel. This was separated by a label which was die cut from the DSP using the Christmas Classics Dies.

Butterflies and one of my favourite products, Black Gingham ribbon (because it just works with so many projects!) complete this card.

Last night on my FB Live I created another card using this sketch and the Modern Garden bundle. Watch the video below.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy all the wonderful inspiration from our team.

‘Tis the Season – Christmas Pinecones

Happy hump day friends, It’s a good feeling when you get here right? Seeing that Christmas is not too far away and it’s always nice to get a head start on those Christmas cards, I’ve got a card using some of the products we have in the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue and Online Exclusives range.

I’m following the sketch at Just Add Ink Challenge JAI667, the 2 circles were formed using some of our specialty paper.

Just Add Ink Challenges jai667, card sketch, card layout

This was the first time I had used the base leaf die (not sure why) from the Christmas Pinecones and I really liked the look of layering the two dies together to create a fuller effect.

For the background I used several strips of Parakeet Party Cardstock. This is a great way to use up your scrap cardstock and they don’t even need to be the same width as I’ve done here. Having them at different widths can have visual appeal too.

Special Delivery – Trucking Along

Today I’m combining some of my favourite Online Exclusive products to create this card inspired by the sketch at Global Design Project Challenge #406. I love the simple style of this sketch which can be interpreted in so many ways.

I’ve used the Trucking Along bundle along with the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper for a cute Christmas card. The scenic paper really needs very little (if any) added. You could just put a sentiment and the paper will carry the project.

I used the Radiating Stitches dies (oh that’s another one of our Online Exclusive products) to die cut the scene and then added the truck laden with presents on top. An extra layer of embossed Early Espresso Cardstock breaks up the blues and adds a contrast, picking up the trees in the foreground.

The snow was die cut from a piece of embossed White cardstock which I had laying around and I thought it added lovely texture. The Basic 3D Embossing Folders come in a pack of 3 different designs, one of which was used here.

I hope you have enjoyed this project and please check out your favourite products in the Online Exclusive products which are available while supplies last.

Hooray It’s Your Day – Colour Palette #19

Hello friends, Hope your week is going well and even better now that we are halfway through the week. For Colour Palette #19 I’ve got a pretty floral card for you using the Irrisistible Blooms Bundle.

I’ve used the sketch at Just Add Ink Challenges #662 as the base for my card. For the centre panel I’ve used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Sereies Paper and on top of this I added some flowers and leaves. Two strips of Basic White Cardstock embossed with the Cane Weave Embossing Folder were added for the side panels.

The flowers were stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink and then coloured in with Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink and coloured them in with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and an Old Olive Watercolour Pencil.

I added a border along the bottom of the sentiment, which was fussy cut from Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. The black contrasts and stands out against the purple tones of the flowers.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get these coupons which you get to spend in August. Shop with me and when your order reaches $90 you also get 57 free tutorials this month to inspire your creativity.
