When I created this colour palette, little did I know that a couple of these colours would be farewelling us this year. For my colour palette no. 6 I’ve chosen some beautiful Easter colours. Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay will be leaving us so it was lovely to be able to use these pretty colours on this card.
I chose the Easter Bunny stamp set in keeping with the colours. The bunny was stamped in Crumb Cake ink and lightly blended with the same ink using a Blending Brush. I added some detail with Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry Watercolour Pencils.
I used the Watercolour Pencils to add a light shading of Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry – picking the closest colours to my palette. These were blended with a Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter.
A cute border was die cut along the sentiment panel with the Penned Dies which I then coloured in with a Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. All my elements were added onto a card base in one of my favourite neutrals – Sahara Sand. This colour is also leaving us so if you love this colour, get some cardstock, ink and refills from our Last Chance sale to keep you going.

For today’s birthday card I chose the colour palette from the Colour Inkspirations #140 challenge. So Saffron, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam are all part of our subtles range and are so pretty together. It was really hard to go past this image and NOT create an Easter card. However,I resisted and opted to use the Happiness Abounds bundle for a floral card instead.
I coloured the flowers in Petal Pink and added some Light So Saffron through the bottom of the petals. This is a colouring technique I use to give variegated looks to images. The leaves were coloured in Soft Sea Foam and I added touches of Petal Pink through them which almost gave them an autumn like look of turning of colours. .
The card sketch was from the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp386 which I switched to a landscape card. I added a textured square for the right side of the sketch.
TEXTURED SQUARE
Die cut Gold Fine Shimmer Paper with Stylish Shapes Dies
Emboss with Hive Embossing Folder
Go over the embossed lines with the Dark Deep Stampin’ Blend
Immediately blend with a Blending Brush
Repeat until desired colour is achieved
Once you complete this, it takes a little bit of time (and patience) to get those flowers stuck down. The ink on top tends to resist that glue. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue and after several attempts, put a large Clear Block on it and left it to dry. It worked!
The flower formed the centre of the sketch and some blending with a mask formed the left side of the sketch. A sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set layered onto a strip of angled Petal Pink DSP was tucked in under the flower and leaves. I really love how the antique look on the Gold Shimmer Paper brings out the softer elements of this card and hope you do too.

It’s been a little while since I did some watercolouring which is one of my favourite techniques. This beautiful flower from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was just perfect for getting back into it.
I used the Colour Inkspiration CI136 challenge photo as inspiration with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #570.
I watercoloured the flowers in Blushing Bride and the leaves in a combination of the greens. This card is just so ‘me’ and I really enjoyed creating it. Watch the video tutorial to get all the tips I shared.

Do you ever wonder what to do with a stamp set like In the Country from our Sale-A-Bration catalogue? Large images of scenes which you could colour in but sometimes you may not have the time to spend colouring it all in.
A sketch such as this one from Freshly Made Sketches is a great way to highlight sections of a scene and lends itself to creating quick cards.
I stamped the scene twice in Cajun Craze and then die cut various sections using a circle die to form the sketch.
The colour palette was minimal making it a great masculine card.

A traditional card for today’s sketch for the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. The beautiful Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper really works for traditional cards and I love the colours in it.
I coordinated with the DSP by adding a focal feature of stamped and die cut pinecones aginst a Cherry Cobbler label.
Then I added some liquid glue and applied the Gilded Leafing over it. This added a lovely Christmas shine to this card.
A sentiment heat embossed in White, then cut up into smaller sections creates a more playful look.
Get this DSP for just $8.40 during our Last Chance sale. Regular price was $21. Being 12″ x 12″ sheets, they also make for great scrapbook pages.
