Most avid crafters have endless amounts of paper and cardstock scrap and I’m sure you have a collection as well. This card has been designed around scraps and is great for us hoarders who can’t throw away any of those little bits of beautiful Designer Series Paper.
My card has been inspired by two challenges. I’ve picked scraps and strips from the Just Add Ink JAI658- Just Choose Two challenge. The strips were perfect for the sketch at the Paper Players PP646 challenge.
I took a piece of Basic White Cardstock slightly larger than the size of the banner. Then I adhered several strips of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper strips across it and die cut it with the largest banner from the Nested Essentials dies. I really love the patchwork effect this gives.
For some extra strips and in-keeping with the sketch I took some scrap Basic White Cardstock cut to 1.5 cm. I blended these with Boho Blue ink and stamped over them with the large watercolour look image from the Artistically Inked stamp set. This gave it a lovely textured look.
The Stampin’ Up! June Creative Challenge is to use Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. I used the Blends to colour in the Punched out hearts and this provided a nice contrast against the blues.
I hope this inspires you to get creative with your scraps and find some fun ways to bring new life to them.
You can get this Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper on sale until 30th June. This is my favourite in the Annual Catalogue. The blues just work so well together.
Hello, It’s time for our Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and although not Spring in Australia, who doesn’t love flowers through the year to brighten up their day? With Easter only a week away, I just had to make an Easter card with lovely colourful flowers from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Pack.
This layout would work really well to use up your DSP scraps. This pack of DSP is perfect for our spring theme.
To create this card, I cut 3 panels at 3.5cm and 2 panels at 2cm. First glue your 3 floral panels onto your base card then add the 2 dotted strips on top.
I had a piece of embossed cardstock laying on my desk and it was a little bit short to fit across my card. So I cut it about 2/3 of the way down and hid the join under the focal image. This is a great way to s-t-r-e-t-c-h paper!
Both the square dies I’ve used on this card are from sets that are retiring. These are really handy to have in your craft stash. I have used both these sets so many times and I love the stitching on the Stitched Shapes Dies. I stamped the scalloped square with the long fill-in image from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set, stamping off twice to achieve a softer shade of Daffodil Delight.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. Some of the products used on this card are on our Retiring List and are only available while supplies last. Don’t miss out on your favourites.
Next on our hop is the talented Wendy Lee. Please click below to see her lovely project.

Beautiful Designer Series Paper that we all love – what do you do with all those scraps? I’ve got a fun card layout that uses Designer Series Paper scraps and creates beautiful cards. I’m using the gorgeous Berry Delightful DSP on my cards today. This paper is part of the Berry Blessings bundle and you can only earn it free with a $180 order until 28th February.
You need 4 pieces of 4cm x 4cm squares. That’s nice and easy 4x4x4! Then round 2 of the corners with the Detailed Trio punch. I mounted each of these pieces onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
An embossed white panel creates a simple and effective background for our quick and easy card. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set has been punched out with the Classic Label Punch which is one of my favourites for creating really quick sentiments.
