Sneak Peek – Hand-Penned Suite

Being part of the Stampin’ Up! family means I get to enjoy some fun events through the year with other demonstrators. We get to share in the excitement of new catalogues, product reveals, live demonstrations, guest speakers, training, making new friends. We also get to make new friends at these events, which is the best part.

Something that happens at every event is what is called a ‘swap’. Those who choose to take part, bring several of the same project (could be card or a 3D item, gift packaging). Then we swap our cards with other demonstrators’ so that we come home with a lovely variety of projects.

A couple of weeks ago we had On Tour – a virtual event where I got to interact and meet with many other demonstrators. Over the past year, virtual events have kept our community together just as it has with many of you. We did a virtual swap which was to be made with products from our new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. This card was my contribution using the Hand-Penned Suite.

I used the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper which was cut in half and added to the card. The Hand-Penned Petals stamp set is a two-step set. One is the image outline stamp and then I added the fill-in for the flower with our new in-colour, Pale Papaya and the leaves in another new In-Colour, Soft Succulent. I love how our suites offer product coordination to make creating easy.

I have had the joy of enjoying these events ever the past 6 years as a perk for being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Papercrafting is a lot of fun and I get to share it with so many people – including you!

A few months ago I received this pin for advancing to Silver Elite title. It really is lovely to get recognized for achievements in a job that is so rewarding. As if getting a discount on all my purchases wasn’t enough!

Christmas Ornaments with Holly

I love this sketch challenge for Day 26 of the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. It is so open and really gives you so many ways to interpret it. I’ve used the ornaments from the Cherish the Season stamp set to create my focal image, replacing the snowflake in the sketch.

I coloured the ornaments in Just Jade Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut them out. Then I heat embossed them in Clear Embossing Powder 3 times to give them a glossy finish. The holly from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set was also fussy and layered to form the focal image for my card.

The ornaments were placed on a Wonder of the Season Memories & More card which was been layered on ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper.

BANNER

To create the banner at the back, I die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Magic in the Night Designer Series Paper then used the same die to create the banner effect. This created a very short banner. I extended this by cutting the banner and gluing it at the back which gives the impression that there is a full length banner.

Do you love the Mesh Ribbon as much as I do? You may have missed it in the Mini catalogue. It’s on page 53 in the bottom right hand corner. It really is a pretty ribbon and adds a lovely softness to the card. For the sentiment, I took one of my favourites, from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. Stamping the sentiment in black balances the colour against the black card base.

Why don’t you give this sketch a try? You could even flip it on it’s side. Working with sketches is a lot of fun. You can find all the products I’ve used listed at the bottom of this post. The ‘Tis the Season DSP and Magic in this Night DSP are on sale in our October Designer Series Paper Sale. View the entire selection by clicking on the image below.
