Kylie International Blog Highlights October – Dazzling Butterfly

Hi Stampers,

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. We are continuing with the theme of Encouragement on Kylie’s International Blog Highlight for October.

Kylie's International Blog HIghlight

This card, with it’s glittery butterfly is sure to brighten someone’s day and bring a smile to their face. It’s #worldcardsendingweek this week and Stampin’ Up! are gearing up for a grand total of 50,000 cards to be sent worldwide. An encouragement is perfect at any time and I’ve got someone in mind for this card.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Gala card with Dazzling Diamonds

I started off with a Smoky Slate card base and stamped the butterflies in Smoky Slate. Then I added a panel of Blushing Bride embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. I stamped a panel of Whisper White cardstock with a combination of images from the Beauty Abounds stamp set to create a pretty background. I love that we can create our own Designer Series Paper with stamps to colour coordinate with our projects.

The Delightful Tag Topper punch was used to create the tag which has been embossed with the Country Floral embossing folder. The texture is so detailed on this folder and it coordinates with the soft look of this card.

The sentiment is perfect to let someone know they have been thought. I’ve layered it with a felt border from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. The striped border is a stamp from the Tiny Keepsakes Cling Stamp set which is in the Holiday Catalogue. I stamped this in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut a strip to to flag and use as a banner.

I stamped the butterfly in Smoky Slate on Blushing Bride. Then I added liquid glue and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds to create my sparkly butterfly.

Kylie’s Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop September 2019

Kylie's Top Ten Winners Blop Hop

Hi Friends,

Thanks for stopping by my blog – Stamping Flair. A few weeks ago I created this card for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. I was so thrilled to find out that I was picked in the top ten. Thank you so much for voting. You can find out all the details for this card HERE.

Encouragement card, Stampin' Up!

Today the top ten winners are participating in a blog hop and I am so excited to take part alongside these talented demonstrators. Thank you to Kylie Bertucci for hosting this event. Our theme for this hop is Encouragement. Nature's Beauty stamp set by Stampin' Up!, Make a difference to Mental Health

It appears that I have stuck to the same kind of imagery – cute little animals. I didn’t even think about it until I started comparing the cards. For today’s cards, I have used the bunny from the beautiful, Nature’s Beauty stamp set which is on Page 63 of the Holiday Catalogue. I stamped the image in Soft Suede on Shimmery White cardstock and then watercoloured it using Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso Watercolour pencils.

Watercoloured handmade encouragement card with Come to Gather Designer Series Paper

The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper is featured on both my cards. This DSP has images of pumpkins and autumn leaves and is part of the Come to Gather suite. As you can see, the designs work well on any type of project.

The DSP has a bit of a country feel to it and I thought the addition of a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the Corrugated embossing folder added a rustic feel to coordinate with the wood DSP. An encouraging sentiment from Harvest Hellos has been added together with the ribbon under the Shimmery White cardstock panel.

Kylie’s International Blog Highlight September – Daisy Encouragement

Kylie's International Blog HIghlightI’ve made an encouragement card today as part of Kylie Bertucci’s September International Blog Highlight. I’ve chosen neutral shades and the calming tones of Balmy Blue as my colour combination.

I stamped the bird in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, die cut it with the circle and coloured with Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. Then I created a mask by stamping the bird again on some scrap paper. I dabbed a bit of liquid glue on the back and left it to become tacky. Then I placed this over the the bird to use as a mask and stamped the leaves in Old Olive over the circle.

Using 2 circle dies (1 larger and 1 smaller than the Whisper White circle), I die cut a frame from Crumb Cake cardstock. This was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the embossed Balmy Blue panel.

Framed Bird coloured with Stampin' Blends

I stamped 3 daisies in Pretty Peacock ink, punched them out and sponged around to soften the edges. Several leaves were cut from the vellum sheet in the Magnolia Lane Memories and More cardpack and arranged under the flower. The ribbon has been secured with glue dots.

Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights August – Encouragement

Thank you for stopping by my blog, Stamping Flair, today. Demonstrators from around the world are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and the theme this month is Encouragement.

I chose hues of greens and blues for this card to make it bright and cheery and perfect for our theme.

Oh Darling, you are fabulous ….I love this sentiment and think it would really lift someone up.

The background was created by stamping the leaves in Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green. I love the bright, summery feel of these shades of green. I then added the heat embossed, Gold leaves which really add to the cheering up sentiment of my card.

To create the double colour on the sentiment, I used the Stamparatus. First I stamped in Pretty Peacock. Then moving the cardstock a tiny bit to the right, I masked the sentiment with washi tape and inked the stamp with Granny Apple Green. Then I stamped the sentiment which creates the pretty double colour on the word ‘darling’.

I mounted the sentiment on another oval die cut from Pretty Peacock Cardstock and embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder. This has then been adhered onto a Soft Sea Foam oval to create a pretty, focal mage.

The bow was formed by snipping a section of the linen ribbon apart. I created a mock bow using glue dots to secure in place.

With card making, we have the ability to brighten someone’s day by giving them a handmade card. Who could you encourage and share your beautiful cards with today? A birthday, congratulations, anniversary, thinking of you or just because… the recipient will love it.
