Step-it-Up Sunday #24 Magical Fairy Celebration

Hi Friends,

Blessed Sunday to each of you. How did you go this week juggling all that you do each day? I realize I can’t do everything and don’t juggle that well sometimes but that’s ok. We must look after ourselves despite the hectic pace of life.

I got to see the new Holiday Catalogue this past week. Oh my goodness …. get ready for it lovely people. It is awesome. I love Christmas and every page I turned I wanted something. Even the things that weren’t Christmas were awesome. I can’t handle it – decisions, decisions. If you live in Australia and would like a catalogue, please contact me with your address and I will get one out to you.

This past week, Cassidy had her City Experience excursion. This was a learning curve for her as much as it was a test of me trusting God to look after her. She had 5 days of catching trains into the city and a bunch of her friends went together so it was safe. They had time to explore and find their way around the city while they completed several activities. She is much more confident now with the train travel and we both survived!

For Cassidy’s 7th birthday we had a fairy come to the party and do magic tricks and face painting and all the pretty things that little girls love. I think we all know a little girl who loves fairies and believes in the magic they bring. Today’s card is for that little girl. The Fairy Celebration stamp set is enchanted and I have several other cards in my mind which I want to make. I focused on the toadstool in this image and worked my card around it.

Basic

Create your own Designer Series Paper with the leaf and mushroom stamps from the Foxy Friends stamp set by stamping onto Whisper White cardstock. I love the mushroom because it is so cute. There are a few different ones in this set. I have had the stamp set for a while but hadn’t opened it and the first stamps I used were these tiny ones.

Attach this and the Designer Series Paper to your Pear Pizzazz card base. Stamp the fairy image in Black ink and layer on Basic Black cardstock then mount with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto your card base.

Intermediate
Spotlighting Technique

Stamp Fairy on 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock. One piece is your base and from the other, punch out a circle to highlight part of the image. Colour parts of the image within the circle with Stampin’ Write markers. I have used Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Mint Macaron and Powder Pink. Align the circle image and mount on top of other fairy image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Add a strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch then mount the image on top.

Advanced

I turned the Basic card into an Easel card for the Advance crafter. Although this is a simple card fold, it takes it to the next step. Follow this link Easel card for instructions on how to create this fold.

The focal image is as per the Intermediate card.  Apply liquid glue to the wings and pour Dazzling Diamonds to add sparkle.  Add some die cut leaves to embellish the card.

Stamp the sentiment and mount with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Then mount onto card base with Dimensionals. Make sure that it is placed about a 1/4 way up from the bottom so that the card stays up when open.

If you haven’t tried this fold before, why not give it a try this week. Let me know how you go with it and please ask me any questions you may have.

Hope you have a great week.
