This batch of cards came about as a result of some leftover bits of paper I had. I used some of the paper from the 2018-2020 In-Color DSP, Garden Impressions DSP and added sentiments from the Darling Label Punch set. Little cards like this are nice even nice when attached to a gift.
The base cards were made from In-Colour Cardstock and measured 3”x6” folded in half, I matched the DSP from the In-Color Designer Series Paper to suit each card. I love our range of Designer Series Paper which are available in each of the colour families. It’s great to have these in varying designs to coordinate with our projects. They work well with the other papers in our range.

The sentiments were stamped and punched out with the Darling Label punch. This bundle comes in a beautiful keepsake box which has 6 stamps, a punch, 2 stamping spots in Night of Navy and Grapefruit Grove and a clear block.
Creating the cards was very quick. After adding the main panel of DSP I added other strips of coordinating DSP from the Garden Impression paper stack. Then I added various ribbon and embellishments to enhance the cards. As the paper is bright, it didn’t need a lot of embellishing and some small embellishments added a cute touch to finish these little cards.

Jul 29, 2018 | Friendship, Step-It-Up Sunday |
Hi everyone,
Good to have you back for another Step-it-Up Sunday. I can’t believe it’s been going for nearly 6 months now and there’s been so many different cards. I love the challenge of creating the 3 different cards for varying crafters. Follow the Step-it-Sunday link to see the past cards.
The Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper reminds me of Impressionistic paintings. It’s got lovely colours and floral images on one side and background style artwork on the reverse. This teams up with the Abstract Impressions stamp set which is very ‘arty’. It is a very forgiving stamp set in that if it doesn’t line up 100%, it doesn’t look too bad. It is abstract after all.
My cards were based on this layout.

Beginner
This card has lots of layered cardstock and Designer Series Paper. Die cut a circle and then stamp your flowers using So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy on another piece of DSP and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right side and liquid adhesive on the left.

Intermediate
For the next step-up, emboss the Melon Mambo panel with the Basket Weave embossing folder. I used this folder because I thought of baskets of flowers and I love the texture of this embossing folder.

Colour the matte side of a pearlized doily with So Saffron ink. You can do this by stamping direct with the ink pad or use a stamp to stamp ink onto the doily, which is what I found was easier to control. As you are only using the outer portion of your doily, you can cut out the inner section to use on another project.

To complete the centre image, stamp an extra flower, fussy cut and add to your die cut circle with a Dimensional.

Avid
To make the Melon Mambo panel into a tag, use the Swirly Swowflake border die. This die set has some lovely border images and as you can see it’s not limited to the Christmas season. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock which is then mounted onto Designer Series Paper. This is die cut using one of the labels from the Stitched Labels die set but it needs to be extended to lengthen it. Night of Navy Baker’s Twine ties in with the colours of the DSP.

Hope you have enjoyed today’s Step-it-Up Sunday. Use the card layout to come up with different designs – portrait or landscape, varying DSP, stamp sets – each one will look different.
Have a great week filled with blessings.
