Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp412 CASE the designer project. We are CASEing a card by Wilma de Korte from the the Netherlands.
To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit any part of the card whether it’s layout, colours, themes, stamp set. I’ve copied the layout of Wilma’s card creating a houndstooth background with the Abundant Beauty Decorative mask.
The frame was blended in Real Red and then I added Gilded Leafing with Liquid Glue dotted in sections. This was mounted using Foam Adhesive Sheets cut into thin strips.
On this I added the apples, coloured in with a variety of Stampin’ Blends and cut out using the scalpel tip from the Take Your Pick Crafters Tips. This was great to get inbetween all the leaves so that the background was visible.
The sentiment was stamped on the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper which was also used as one of the matte layers. To stabilise the sentiment I added 3 layers of scrap cardstock under it before mounting it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Products used to create this card are listed at the bottom of this post. You can shop online or contact me to place your order.
Have a fabulous week and if I can help you in any way, please get in touch with me.

When I saw the theme at Just Add Ink Challenges #655 I knew I had to take part. Music has been a part of my life since the day I was born. With a mother who was a piano teacher and choir directress we were a home immersed in it’s rich heritage.
I chose the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set with an idea of making more of a guy card. Taking a panel of Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper, I embossed it with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. This Pebble Path sheet has a dry brush look background which immediately added a light and dark area to the embossing.
I went over the embossing with Tuxedo Black, using a Sponge Dauber to highlight the music notes.
Next I added a banner with the Dry Brushed Metallic Paper which was a look I liked. At this point I decided to add the Gilded Leafing over the embossed panel as I felt it would work well against the Specialty Paper. I used a brush and my fingers to smoothen the surface and take off the excess. Have you played with Gilded Leafing? It’s a fun product which adds beautiful texture.
There are different ways you can apply Gilded Leafing. On this card, I roughly dragged the Versamark Ink Pad in the areas that I wanted the gold on. Then I applied Heat & Stick Powder over these areas, activating the stickiness by heating it with a Heat Tool. Next I laid the embossed panel face down into my Gilded Leafing container.
TIPS FOR WORKING WITH GILDED LEAFING
Transfer the Gilded Leafing to a larger box. It comes packaged in a small container. By transferring it to a larger container, I’m able to place a card front in it and have more space to work with it.
Don’t breathe over it or sneeze on it! It will fly away everywhere!
Using Paper Snips, I gently scraped off some of the Gilded Leafing to expose the notes and stave. I really liked this background which highlighted the embossed detail even more and gave it a bit of a ‘funky’ look.
On the sentiment panel, I stamped sections of the piano keys by masking off the sentiment, to create some added texture. The guitar which has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends was kept simple against the gold tinged background.
I hope you give this fun techique a try and if you have any questions please get in touch with me. All supplies I have used are listed below. If you live in Australia, you can shop with me by placing an order online or by contacting me.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been sharing colour palette inspiration on my FB page and through my newsletter. This week we have this rich range of colours to work with.
On last night’s Live I shared a card using this gorgeous palette. This design used up some of my scraps too.
I also showed how to use the Gilded Leafing which added a lovely opulent border to this card. Watch the video tutorial for tips on using this product. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to my YouTube Channel for more inspiration.

Hello, Welcome to the New at SU Blog Hop for January and we are sharing Sale-A-Bration goodies with you.
If you are new to the whole Sale-A-Bration thing, here’s the deal. For every $90 you spend in store (this is the amount in Australia) you get to select a FREE PRODUCT from our Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. There is no limit on the number of products you can earn so it’s a great time to stock up on all those craft essentials and get some freebies while you’re at it.
My feature Sale-A-Bration (SAB) product today is the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper. This is a freebie with a $90 order. You get 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ double-sided paper in a selection of colours.
I die cut both sides of the So Saffron paper to create a pattern for the bottom half of my card. As a border in the middle of the card I added some Tear n’ Tape, applying Gilded Leafing and some twine coloured with a Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend.
The bird image was stamped on Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut. I then stamped the bird on the Coastal Cabana piece of the Simply Marbleous DSP, fussy cut it and adhered it over the main image. By placing your image where there is more shading on the DSP, the bird will have some pretty colouring and ‘done for you’ shading.
I curved the sentiment to fit on the vellum circle and heat embossed in Black. Some Matte Dots coloured with a Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend add the finishing touch to this card.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my project. For a list of products used, please check the end of this post. Please click on the Next button to see Anke Heim’s lovely project.
