God is Love Easter Card

Easter is a very special time for me. In the shops we see chocolates, bunnies and there are even chocolate bugs and beetles. I indulge in these and also enjoy decorating the home with Easter themed, pastel home decor. More than this, Easter is  central to my faith and this card focuses on the main reason of the Easter story – God’s Love.

Easter card with Stampin' Up!, Hold onto Hope,

I had this panel of Hardwood stamped Basic Gray cardstock layered on a Smoky Slate card base sitting in my stash for, I reckon, about a year. No inspiration for months and then just like that, something came to mind. The Hardwood stamp set has been much loved by me and I’m quite sad to see it on the retiring list. If it’s one of the stamp sets you’ve been wanting to get, it’s guaranteed available until 24th May.

I love the look of the Tranquil Textures Designer Paper as the cross under the silver filigree. I’ve used the same paper to stamp the sentiment on.

Tip:
Stamping on Designer Series Paper gives you a further way of using your paper stash and creating pretty and different backgrounds.

To create the panel in the middle I stamped the floral flourish from the Hold on to Hope stamp set multiple times in Balmy Blue and then added 2 silver strips to create a border either side of it. A rhinestone has been added to the centre of the cross. This card was very quick to make and you don’t need a lot of supplies for it.

Easter Blessings!
