Quick & Easy Card with Joyous Noel Suite

This card uses the same Basic card layout I featured in my Step-it Up Sunday this week. It’s so quick to make and changing paper and colour schemes will alter the look of your card.

To vary today’s card, I used another sheet from the same Designer Series Paper. Then I matted it onto Tranquil Tide cardstock. The sentiment was matted onto Merry Merlot cardstock. Isn’t Tranquil Tide and Merry Merlot a lovely colour combination for Christmas?

What really makes this card is the gorgeous ribbon. This reversible ribbon is Merry Merlot on one side and Copper on the other and seeing it in person is even more beautiful than in the photo. Added to this is a Snowflake Wire Element which has been attached with some metallic thread. These elements come in mixed packs of 12 with stars and hearts. Each one is 4.4cm so they are a nice large size to even use as a feature on a card.

Step-it-Up Sunday #30 Joyous Noel with His Light

Hi Everyone,

Wish you a Blessed Sunday and welcome to Stamping Flair. Thanks for stopping by. It’s been a great start to Spring this past week with the sun shining quite a number of days.  What has your week been like? Have you been busy creating thinks like Christmas cards? No need to panic. I’ve got some inspiration for you today.

Most of the products are from the new Holiday catalogue. The Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper which I have used has copper accents on one side of the paper. It is really beautiful.

Basic

To create the Basic card, layer a panel of DSP on Merry Merlot cardstock. Stamp the sentiment in Tranquil Tide and Merry Merlot. Add leaves in Crumb Cake then layer onto Merry Merlot cardstock.

Intermediate

The beautiful Ombré look on the sentiment is achieved very easily using a Stamparatus. If you haven’t got one, I can only say, it is the ultimate positioning tool and with 4 platforms on which you can mount your stamps, aligning images has never been easier. Stamping the same thing multiple times? Make it quick work with this tool. No wastage of cardstock either – if you miss part of the stamping, just re ink and stamp again.

Ombré Stamping

Ombré stamping is a breeze with the Stamparatus. These are the steps to achieve this look.

  • Use Mint Macaron as the initial colour, Ink up your entire stamp and stamp the image. Repeat to get a darker image.
  • Clean your stamp using the Simply Shammy
  • Using a scrap piece of cardstock, cover up the top part of the image (you could use post-it notes). Ink the uncovered area with Shaded Spruce and stamp over the Mint Macaron. Your image will now have 2 shades.
  • Clean your stamp using the Simply Shammy
  • Cover 2/3 of the stamp and ink the bottom area in Tranquil Tide and stamp over the image. You will now have an Ombré sentiment.

Heat emboss ‘Christ is Born’ in Gold.

On the sentiment panel, stamp the leaves in Soft Suede and some off-stamped to give a lighter shade

Add the Stitched Label between the sentiment and the Merry Merlot panel. Cut it in half, if required, to fit. Punch some leaves from Tranquil Tide and Glimmer Paper with the Sprig punch. The Glimmer paper does not drop glitter everywhere although it is glittery and it adds a lovely sparkle to your projects. Attach the vinyl stickers from the Tea Room Suite to the edge of the label.

Advanced

The Advanced card adds a die cut, in Copper Glimmer paper, of Mary and Joseph from the Bethlehem Edgelits dies. Add a panel of embossed Crumb Cake cardstock behind the sentiment panel.

During the month of September the Dashing Along promotion is running. With purchases or party sales of $400 or more, you receive a pack of free Dashing Along Designer Series Paper. Contact me for details.
