When I think of children I always think of how much fun they love to have and especially at birthdays and Christmas – it’s always fun to have a surprise. So with that in mind, I made a Pull Tab Slider Card. This has a secret message, moving element, some glitter and a cute balloon bearing bird. Not just suitable for a child, I think any adult may love to receive this fun card too!
To create the balloons, I inked up the image from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set and then pounced a Stampin’ Write Marker in a contrast colour. After this I spritzed the stamp and stamped on Fluid 100 Cardstock to create the watercoloured balloons.
I added a secret message under the slider section which was decorated with party images from the Taco Fiesta stamp set. The sweet bird flies through with a bunch of balloons to reveal the Happy Birthday.
I will be creating a video to show how to create this card, which will be uploaded this weekend. Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to be notified when new videos are posted.
Thank you for stopping by and I’d love for you to leave me a comment as you pass through to see what my friend Cheryll Miller has created today.

It’s all about the Kids today at our New at SU Blog Hop. As I looked through the list of stamp sets being featured I was so excited because there is such a fantastic range of products to make projects to suit the little ones in our lives. So make sure you check out all the inspiration in our blog hop today.
I’ve chosen the Construction Zone stamp set which I ordered specifically for this blog hop. I had my eye on it and this was the perfect excuse (like I needed one!).
I went with some bright ccolours for my card. Starting with repeated stamping of the sentiment I then added the presents which were coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers.
A cement mixer coloured with Stampin’ Blends forms the focal point for this card. Smaller stamps can have big impact, such as this witch’s hat which forms a cute border along the bottom.
I think this would make a great stamp set for those kids who like Bob the Builder. With images to colour in, stamp some out for your kids or grand kids so they can have some holiday colouring fun.
Watch the video below for all the details on how to create this card.

Last 2 days of our 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and 2020 Mini Catalogue and I just had to share with you some cards I created with the cute scalloped note cards. These cards come in Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile.
I used the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper to create this set of cards. I just love that the variety of colours give me so much choice when it comes to coordinating DSP.
The sentiment uses the very cute Time for Tags stamp set which coordinates with the Timeless Label Punch. The Time for Tags stamp set is a Hostess stamp set which you still have time to earn with Stampin’ Rewards. With cute sentiments to suit lots of occasions, it makes great tags and some fun cards – as you can see.
I used the beautiful felt embellishments from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit in colours of Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point which coordinate so well with the Birthday Bonanza paper.
You can order any of the products required to make these cards by clicking on the images below which will take you to my online store.

It’s been a while folks. Sickness got me and I’m still not doing the best. Hope this winter weather doesn’t get you down with colds and nasties.
Cassidy celebrated her 16th birthday last week as well. It’s been lovely celebrating this special young lady who brings so much joy to me. She is filled with so much love and kindness and has a generous and forgiving spirit. Cassidy got a fun makeover with highlights in her hair for the first time so that was very exciting and she had some friends over to celebrate and enjoyed a fun time last weekend. Here she is all dressed up and getting a bit of a photoshoot done.
The background for this card was created by Cassidy. One day I was creating a water colour wash and she thought it looked like fun. So she asked if she could make one too. Of course I said she could. She picked her colours and created this lovely background on Shimmery White cardstock. Isn’t it beautiful? Then she said ‘Mum, you can use it on one of your cards if you like’. So I liked and here is the card I made using it.
The water colour wash was created with Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss and Coastal Cabana. This time Cassidy used Clear stamp blocks to ink up the colour. You could also use this technique with ink refills. Then then using an aqua painter she made the colours runny and easy to apply so no harsh lines appeared.
I thought this mermaid was ideal for this background with the water colour background and it’s lovely colours. Instead of just leaving the panel of cardstock as it was, I cut it in half and die cut the edges and added an embossed Coastal Cabana panel behind it. The Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder looks like bubbles in water – perfect for my mermaid.
To colour her in, I combined several Stampin’ Blends and really worked all the colours in together. I started with Light Highland Heather and then blended the darker colour. When it came to adding Lovely Lipstick, after colouring it in, I then went over it with Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo to blend the colours in. A brush of Wink of Stella over her skirt adds the mermaid shimmer to it.
I stamped the sentiment directly onto the cardstock as I wanted to keep it fairly simple and let the background and mermaid stand out. Every little girl would love some Mermaid kisses for their birthday, I’m sure.
The Stamparatus is very useful when stamping on Shimmery White cardstock or Watercolour paper. As it is more porous, I find that the ink doesn’t take straight away and may leave you with a half-stamped sentiment. Using the Stamparatus gives you the option of re-stamping again and again.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this Cassidy-Rochelle creation and definitely give this watercolour wash a whirl. It’s a lot of fun.
