Step-it-Up Sunday #17 Lilypad Lake Inspirational Card

Can you believe that another week has sped by and we are in the middle of June? This week has been a full, fun and hectic week for me.
Today was my Catalogue Launch and I did mention earlier this week, that in preparation for it, I was making cards like there was no tomorrow. I will give you more details about it in my next post with all the fun photos, but in short, the day went very well.
I have chosen the calming Lilypad Lake bundle to create my cards today. No matter what level of crafter you are, there is a card which you can adapt to your cardmaking skills or time constraints. There are times we just need a really quick card to put together and on these occasions the Basic card in my Step-it-Up Sunday Series would be perfect for you to create – quick and easy but yet individual with the handmade touch.
Basic
I love that when you layer cardstock onto a matte it makes the different layers really stand out. For this Basic card, stamp the bird, water and sentiment and then layer onto Tranquil Tide cardstock. There are layers of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper under the stamped panel. The colours and patterns of this DSP, although designed to coordinate with Tranquil Textures Suite, worked really well for this card. The DSP on the base had the ripple look and looked like the stamped image.
The sentiment is lovely and can be used as an encouragement to lift someone up.
Intermediate
To step-up this card, add an extra layer of DSP in the beautiful new colour Soft Sea Foam. Stamp the bird and flowers. Then colour the flowers with Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers. Die cut images as well as the water out of Balmy Blue cardstock
Advanced
To create a little more advanced card, die cut some additional greenery and attach. Then cut a portion of the 12’x12’ sheet of specialty laser cut paper and attach. I did this by cutting a larger piece than I needed, then I applied liquid glue with a sponge (a lot easier this way). Once dry, cut the excess off against the edge of the card.
Stamp the sentiment on Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The die set comes with a label die, however it was a bit too long for this sentiment so I ran it through the Big Shot to create a shorter label.
