Quick Make Father’s Day Cards

Father’s Day is just over a week away and I have some quick make card ideas to share with you to create for a special Dad. I chose A Good Man stamp set as it has images perfect for the occasion. The sentiments will suit whatever you wish to convey to your Dad, Husband, Grandpa and special men in your lives.

Coloured with a selection of Stampin’ Blends these images can coordinate with any Designer Series Paper you choose. I have chosen our selection of 6″x6″ Classic Colours which come in Brights, Regals, Subtles, Neutrals and In-Colors

I added a label in Early Espresso cardstock which has been embossed for some extra interest on this card.

The sentiment is just so sweet and perfect to give Dad to show him how valued he is.

I love the Bermuda Bay on this card with the Calypso Coral. Once I coloured the image, I stamped the sentiment randomly around in Calypso Coral for a fun background. Using the Tailored Tag punch, I punched out 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper to create the tabs for some interest.

The bright red on this card together with the polka dots makes it rather cheerful. Express your gratitude to Dad with this sentiment included in the A Good Man stamp set.

Kre8tors Blog Hop – Masculine

Hi,

I’m back for another blog hop this weekend and what fun I’m having getting to try out different products in the catalogue. The Kre8tors Blog Hop this month is all about masculine themed projects.

Kre8tors Blog Hop August Color Challenge

I think our new catalogue has an extensive range of products to create with that would suit men’s cards, scrapbook pages, gift wrapping or gift items. One of these is the elegant World of good suite with it’s brass foil accents. The Designer Series Paper is just beautiful.

On my card I have combined the DSP with some cards from the coordinating World of Good Memories & More Card Pack. This pack comes with 50 double sided cards, 6 specialty cards with brass foil, 4 sticker sheets and at $19.25 it is great value.

World of Good memories and more Stampin' Up handmade card

The only stamping I did on this card was the sentiment, letting the beautiful design of the paper shine. As a finishing touch, I added the Faux Suede trim and the Antiqued Corners which are part of the suite.

Create a quick masculine card using the World of Good Memories & More card pack

Memories & More card packs make really quick and effective cards and are a great addition to your craft stash.

Create 13 Cards from One Sheet of Paper

I love challenges because they make me think of different ways to use our beautiful products. One of the Facebook Groups I belong to – Fully Visible, issued a fun challenge to keep us crafting during Covid-19. Those who wished to participate were to create a One Sheet Wonder set of cards.

What is a osw (One Sheet Wonder)?

It’s a layout using either a 12″x12″ or 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper in it’s entirety to create a set of projects – so maximum bang for your buck

I have previously followed templates from Pinterest but I set about adding another challenge on top to create my own One Sheet Wonder. I thoroughly enjoyed myself …so much that I just might have to do another one!

I used the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper with the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack. This card pack has so many great images, laser cut paper and stickers. What I’ve used on these cards is just a sample. These items are retiring and are only available while stocks last.

I have made 13 cards using this template. There are way too many photos to include in this blog post. I’ve created a printable sheet with all the cards so you can have the OSW template and card designs all in one handy file. I’ll be sharing this in my newsletter later on this week so if you haven’t already subscribed to my newsletter, you will want to do so you can download the printable. Each week, my newsletter subscribers also get some additional bonuses, projects and giveaways so we have some fun there.

Step-it-Up Sunday #54 It’s Your Day Fishing Card

Many times it’s been said that cards for men are so hard to make and ideas are hard to come by. In the current Occasions Catalogue we have 2 bundles, apart from stamp sets, that really make it easy to create those hard to make men’s cards. The Geared Up Garage bundle is great for the car enthusiast or mechanic in your family. I’m using the Best Catch bundle today. This is great for the outdoor person who loves fishing.

Catch of the Day framelits

Beginner

This card for the beginner stamper creates a scene with stamping in dfferent colours. I incorporated the water in Balmy Blue and the grass in Mossy Meadow from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. The sentiment is stamped on Balmy Blue cardstock. I I was unsure about what colour card base to use and in the end went with Cajun Craze. I like the earthy look it brings to this card.

Casual

Best Catch, Step-it-Up Sunday, Masculine, Men's card, Casual Crafter,

Lots of die cut grass was added from the Catch of the Day framelits as well as Lakeside Framelits. I also die cut the fisherman and attached him with Stampin’ Dimensionals. When trying to align the stamp and the die I ran into a bit of trouble. Every time I stamped the fisherman, one part of it didn’t align with the die. So I went back to a method I have used in the past when I have this problem.

Aligning Tricky Stamps

First die cut the shape from a piece of cardstock. Then place your stamp inside the die cut space. It’s a bit like a puzzle piece. This ensures that the stamped image is not slightly askew and then it will align with your die. Keep your template for future use.

Aligning Tricky stamps, Best Catch

Avid

This card has been stepped up for the Avid crafter with a die cut oval in the centre and an embossed fish added to create more technique to this card.

Best Catch, Step-it-Up Sunday, Masculine, Men's card, Avid crafter

To create the die cut oval temporarily attach the Very Vanilla panel on top of the card base. I added a bit of tombow glue to the back of the Very Vanilla cardstock and let it dry for a couple of minutes. This makes it tacky and allows you to attach it together for die cutting.

Once the oval was die cut, I separated the Very Vanilla panel and ran it through the Big Shot with the larger Stitched Oval. This creates the frame so that the Cajun Craze cardstock shows through.

Using the Stitched Oval die that was used to cut the Very Vanilla panel, I embossed the Cajun Craze cardstock oval with Embossing Mats to show the stitched effect.

On the inside of the card I added a piece of cardstock which was die cut with the In the Wood framelits die and sponged with Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive ink. The bag has been stamped in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock with sections coloured with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.

I think my favourite image in this set is the fish because it’s a larger image and you can colour it so many ways. Several Stampin’ Blends combined to create this look.

Next I wanted to get a metallic look on the fish like scales. Wink of Stella was applied in sections then I poured Gold Embossing Powder and heat embossed it. I did this a few times until a got the look I wanted. The Wink of Stella takes the place of Versamark in this instance.

This would be a fun card to give anyone who loves fishing. This fish is definitely the b-i-i-i-i-g catch fisherman talk about.

Have a wonderful week.

Colour embossing paste by adding a few drop of Soft Suede and Cajun Craze ink refill. Apply this to your card base. I also added this to the bike panel after I stamped the bike. It doesn’t take too long to dry.

Stampin’ Up Su, One Wild Ride, Step-it-Up Sunday’sThe bike has been heat embossed in Clear embossing powder. Here’s a look at what’s it looks like once it’s been embossed.

Stampin’ Up Su, One Wild Ride, Step-it-Up Sunday’sThere are a couple of stamps I really love in this set. It’s the tyre tread – how cool is that? The other is the filler stamp which looks a bit like gravel to me. I used these stamps to fill in and add highlights. The gravel look stamp has been stamped over the brick and the sides of the sentiment and heat embossed in Silver.

Die cut 2 heat embossed sentiments, cut the tails off one and mount with Dimensionals on the other

Mount the Coffee Cafe DSP with Dimensionals and then add the motorbike panel with liquid glue.
