Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp412 CASE the designer project. We are CASEing a card by Wilma de Korte from the the Netherlands.
To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit any part of the card whether it’s layout, colours, themes, stamp set. I’ve copied the layout of Wilma’s card creating a houndstooth background with the Abundant Beauty Decorative mask.
The frame was blended in Real Red and then I added Gilded Leafing with Liquid Glue dotted in sections. This was mounted using Foam Adhesive Sheets cut into thin strips.
On this I added the apples, coloured in with a variety of Stampin’ Blends and cut out using the scalpel tip from the Take Your Pick Crafters Tips. This was great to get inbetween all the leaves so that the background was visible.
The sentiment was stamped on the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper which was also used as one of the matte layers. To stabilise the sentiment I added 3 layers of scrap cardstock under it before mounting it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Products used to create this card are listed at the bottom of this post. You can shop online or contact me to place your order.
Have a fabulous week and if I can help you in any way, please get in touch with me.

If you are in Melbourne you may be one of the fortunate ones enjoying a long weekend. I certainly am grateful for it. I’ve created a card using inspired by the Global Design Project challenge and Just Add Ink Just Choose Two challlenge.
My project composition began with a colour palette inspired by Kim Fee’s design. I then chose a stamp set which I hadn’t used in a while and depicted a similar layout to Kim’s. For my Just Two elements I’ve chosen Blending (of course!) and White.
I started off by stamping the tea cup in Pale Papaya on Basic White Cardstock and blending Pale Papaya ink over it. Then I added some additional shading and blending with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends along the right side of the cup. The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and then I blended Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive over it. With this, my focal element was decided now it was time to add all the other bits and pieces.
I blended the centre oval with Parakeet Party and Old Olive. The Old Olive checks added through a mask depicted the checks on the DSP of the inspiration design, with the black and white leaves inspired by the heat embossed sentiment from the original project.
I couldn’t go past a cute little gingham bow to bring all those elements together with a finishing touch of a few Opal Rounds.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have been inspired to create with some products you may have not used in a while.

It’s day 13 of my Sketchtember Challenge where I’m celebrating my birthday month with my favourite type of challenge – sketches!
My card has been inspired by this photo challenge at Just Add Ink Challenges JAI620. I loved the background on this photo and wanted to replicate the lighter look in the centre getting darker towards the outer edges. When I saw the photo I immediately thought ‘sunflowers’ (it was obviously my bad eyesight!) but I went with it because of the bright yellows.
The photo background had a blended look and I created that on the Cardstock by using Belnding Brushes and adding Tahitian Tide and Starry Sky ink onto Tahitian Tide Cardstock. Then I added Starry Sky through a mask to resemble the faint pattern you can see at the base of the inspiration photo.
I received the Good Feelings stamp set in a Swag Box during a Stampin’ Up! online event and hadn’t used it until this card. I chose one of the larger images to use for the focal point of my sketch. The sentiment was heat embossed in White and then I blended over it with Tahitian Tide which brought out the sentiment.
The sunflower was coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut to resemble the yellow flowers in the inspiration photo.
You could try out this card sketch and swap out the sentiment panel for some DSP or a stamped image and add a sentiment in place of the flower. I love the many ways you can interpret sketches and inspiration photos and get creative.

I figured I needed to bring in some gold for my celebration and as I hadn’t used the patterned masks for a while, I decided this was the project it was going to make an appearance on. At $10 for 4 masks, this is great value as you can use them in a variety of ways.
I used Shimmery White cardstock to heat emboss on as I like the lovely shimmer on it and also the beautiful smooth finish which is lovely to brayer on. Laying the mask over the cardstock, I applied Versamark all over the panel ensuring it was completely covered and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.
Using a sponge brayer, I applied Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Call me Clover inks to create the ombre effect over the entire panel. I used a kitchen towel to wipe back the excess ink which brings up the gold. The ribbon ribbon was attached under this panel using Tear n’ Tape. Then I mounted this with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the card base.
I chose a Whisper White panel in the centre to soften all the green and gold. Embossing it with the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder added more texture and softness to the rich, gold background. The flowers are from the Botanical Prints Product Medley which is a fabulous product, containing everything you need to get creative.
