I’m upto Day 8 of Martin’s Mayhem #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. It’s a technique challenge using ink blending. There are various ways to do it and several tools that you can use to blend ink on your projects. Today I’m going to show you a few mediums which you can use for ink blending.
I’ve used a few techniques as well as some different tools to show you alternative ways to create this technique. I started off with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Using a sponge brayer, I applied Blushing Bride ink, followed by Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray. A Sponge Brayer gives you a smooth transition of colour. Each pack comes with 2 handles and 4 sponge rollers so you can interchange these. Just wash, dry and re-use.
I added some shadow and peaks on the snow using just the side of a sponge dauber in short flicking strokes. On this shaded background, I stamped the trees on top of the snow peaks.
For an extra element of ink blending, I die cut a label using the Tasteful Labels Dies and coloured it with Highland Heather and Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends, blending the colours together. The label was then embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.
The deer from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set was stamped in Soft Suede ink. This was coloured with a combination of Crumb Cake and Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.
If you haven’t tried ink blending before, why don’t you give it a try? All the products I have used are listed below so you can make this card at home. I’ll be happy to help you with any questions you may have. Email me at rochelle@stampingflair.com or Ph: 0404 255 001.

Hi Friends,
Thanks for stopping by my blog – Stamping Flair. A few weeks ago I created this card for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. I was so thrilled to find out that I was picked in the top ten. Thank you so much for voting. You can find out all the details for this card HERE.

Today the top ten winners are participating in a blog hop and I am so excited to take part alongside these talented demonstrators. Thank you to Kylie Bertucci for hosting this event. Our theme for this hop is Encouragement.
It appears that I have stuck to the same kind of imagery – cute little animals. I didn’t even think about it until I started comparing the cards. For today’s cards, I have used the bunny from the beautiful, Nature’s Beauty stamp set which is on Page 63 of the Holiday Catalogue. I stamped the image in Soft Suede on Shimmery White cardstock and then watercoloured it using Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso Watercolour pencils.

The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper is featured on both my cards. This DSP has images of pumpkins and autumn leaves and is part of the Come to Gather suite. As you can see, the designs work well on any type of project.

The DSP has a bit of a country feel to it and I thought the addition of a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the Corrugated embossing folder added a rustic feel to coordinate with the wood DSP. An encouraging sentiment from Harvest Hellos has been added together with the ribbon under the Shimmery White cardstock panel.

Measurements:
- Cajun Craze – 21cm x 14.8cm (scored in half), 7cm x 10.5cm (Stitched Rectangle)
- Crumb Cake – 4cm x 14.5cm, scrap for sentiment
- Pretty Peacock – 2 1/4″ circle
- Shimmery White – 2″ circle
- DSP – 9.9cm x 14.2cm, 5.5cm x 9cm

The Nature’s Beauty stamp set on Page 63 of the Holiday catalogue is cute, cross-seasonal and covers all type of occasions. On top of all that, for every stamp set purchased, Stampin’ Up! will donate $4.95 to a Mental Health organization. This is a fantastic way in which together, we can make a difference.
I’m pairing this cute bunny with the beautiful Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper which is part of the Buy 3 get 1 free offer on DSP. This promotion runs until 30th September.

Various sheets of the DSP have been used to create the different layers on this card. The flower is also part of the DSP and there is a Die in the set which cuts that out to make life easy for us.

I stamped the bunny in Early Espresso onto Shimmery White cardstock and coloured the image with Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo Water Colour pencils and used a Blender Pen to smooth the colour out. I also added a bit of Bermuda Bay to the sky by taking my Blender Pen direct to the pencil and brushing the colour on lightly.

All dimensions and products that I have used to create this card are listed below. You can purchase any of these from my Online Store by clicking on any of the images.
