Keeping it Simple with a Card Sketch and Patterned Paper

I have chosen the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper to create my cards today. The card sketch I have chosen is a simple one which allows you to layer your paper and display the different designs. As this paper is bright and has a lot of design I didn’t add a lot extra. Keeping it simple worked well and showed off the pretty paper. The coordinating colours for this paper are Call me Clover, Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick, Night of Navy, Pineapple Punch and Whisper White.

Handy Hint:

On each pack of Designer Series Paper, the coordinating colours are printed on the back of the pack. I always keep this piece of cardstock or write the colours from the sticker onto the piece of cardstock before storing them. This helps with easy colour coordination when making projects.

Bloom by Bloom suite, Easy card sketch, Stampin' Up!

To offset the busy patterns, I have added a panel of Whisper White cardstock which has been embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  This adds just enough texture without making it too busy. The sentiments use the Label Me Pretty stamp set. Add some enamel dots and these cards are very quick to put together.

Step-it-Up Sunday #35 Daisy Delight

Hi friends,

Welcome to Stamping Flair and thank you for stopping by to check out today’s Step-it-Up Sunday. I am mixing the old and new today. Last year when the Daisy Delight bundle came along it fast became a favourite among many. Today I’m combining it with some new favourites from the Holiday catalogue.

Basic

You couldn’t get a much quicker card than this one. Attach the Glittered Organdy ribbon using double sided tape. This ribbon is one of those items that you could possibly miss in the Holiday catalogue. It’s on Pg 49 under the Cauldron Bubble  bundle. Now, I’m not into the Halloween theme but some of the products on this page are things I have purchased such as the ribbon, black foil sheets and baker’s boxes because individually those products appealed to me. Each page of the catalogue contains so many beautiful things so it’s good to have a check of all the bits and pieces in each suite.

Stamp the daisy twice in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and punch out. Layer together with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Add to the card base and attach a faceted gem to centre of flower.  Stamp the sentiment from Perennial Birthday in Cajun Craze, punch out and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Intermediate

Step-up this card by adding the Buffalo Check background in Cajun Craze. I recommend using the Stamparatus positioning tool for these larger background stamps as it makes it much easier to restamp if you miss a section of the image. Colour in the daisy with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

Layer the sentiment panel on Basic Black cardstock. Trim the cardstock to form the back panel as per the photo.

Advanced

To make this more advanced, use the stamp from Daisy Delight to stamp little dots on the sentiment in Mint Macaron. Add a panel of Country Lane Designer Series Paper behind the ribbon.
