Vintage Typewriter Birthday Note

When I saw this typewriter in the Annual catalogue, I just knew it would make it’s way into my collection of stamps. I love the vintage look of it, and all the other accompanying stamps which can create some amazing looks.

This typewriter makes me think of my parents. They owned a vintage typewriter many years ago and then they upgraded to an electric one! That was a little bit of modern day luxury in our home. I remember ribbons, correction tape, carbon paper and a distinct smell that typewriters seemed to have.

My Mama was a great typist but then there was Daddy! He was a super fast typist. Being the organized man he was, any notes and agendas were all typed up. Daddy was a preacher and more often than not his sermon notes were also typed and I still have these.

My card today draws on this colour combination.

I used the alphabet stamp to create a background in Gray Granite and Balmy Blue.On top of this I added a layer of Tranquil Textures DSP. I have found several sheets in this Designer Series Paper Pack work really well on many projects as they muted colours tone in well with so many colours.

The typewriter was stamped in Gray Granite and the doily image was stamped to resemble the printed paper, I remember well, which was used for special letters. Once this was fussy cut, I used a bone folder to curve the ‘letter’. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals in the centre of the ‘letter’ and liquid adhesive at the top to keep the curved shape.

The doily has been coloured on the reverse in Daffodil Delight to match my card.

I made a bouquet with the Framelits and added a bow to finish the card.
