Monochromatic Lemon Lolly – Round We Go Bundle

Welcome to this week’s monochromatic Insta Hop with the Crafty Collaborations team. We are featuring a beautiful, subtle yellow – Lemon Lolly.

The Round We Go bundle caught my eye immediately when I looked through the new catalogue. I loved the different pinwheels that could be created by comining different images and die cuts. Not only for cards, these would be great for tags, gift packaging and home decor pieces.

The largest pinwheel is assembled by die cutting 2 stripes of the longer die and then folding each concertina style. Glue them together to form the pinwheel. In the centre, I die cut a circle and stamped it with the Leaf Collection background stamp.

Using different dies, patterned paper and textures, I was able to create an interesting layout. I splattered some dots with a Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend and stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight. Initially I thought I would us Black but I felt this was too harsh against the softness of the yellow and opted for the Misty Moonlight which is from our Neutrals range.

This piece would make a great home decor piece or addd a nice accent to a nursery, just by adding a frame to it.

AWOW Blog Hop – Sketch with Latte Love Bundle

Awow Blog Hop, Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop where we have a sketch challenge for May. This is my favourite type of challenge and I’ve given the Latte Love bundle a bit of a twist with some new products.

If you are new to our blog hop, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from different parts of the world and on the 2nd Wednesday of each month we share inspiration with you using our beautiful products centred around a particular theme.

When I selected the Latte Love bundle as the product I wanted to use with this sketch, I didn’t anticipate going in the direction which my project took me. As I started creating, I wanted to create a different look with this mug to those I had previously made. I decided to replicate a beautiful Bone China style mug with watercoloured flowers – similar to something you would use at high tea.

To achieve this I stamped the mug in Crumb Cake ink, stamped off, on Fluid 100 Cardstock. Then I took the floral corner stamp from the Country Flowers stamp set, masked off a section, and stamped the floral image onto the mug with Crumb Cake ink stamped off. Using a Blender Pen, I worked on the watercolouring of the flowers, mug and coffee.

The outline of the stamped image was quite faint and I did improvise a little bit with the flowers and leaves where I couldn’t see the image too well. This didn’t matter as it lent to the watercoloured look I was aiming for.

The handle was stamped separately in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold. Once watercoloured, I attached this to the cup. For the saucer, I used the Round We Go dies, watercolouring the base and adding a Gold embossed centre for a matching set with my cup.

Some leaves from the Citrus Blooms dies fill in around the handle and the sentiment. A simple Gold bow and Pretty in Pink Resin Dots completed my vision for this card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my part of the world in Melbourne today and I hope you have been inspired by my card. I would love for you to leave me a comment as you hop through to see Cheryll Miller‘s beautiful project.
