Christmas Letters – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

Welcome to Day 8 of the 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge with the theme of Christmas Letters. My initial thought was postage letters and we have a lovely stamp set in our current Mini Catalogue called the Stamped with Love set which would have been perfect. One problem, I didn’t have it. I did however, have the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder which has sentiments in all types of fonts and that fits perfectly for letters.

I’ve used the reindeer image from the retired Seasonal Chums stamps and dies. This is a gift tag which I cut in half and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The Misty Moonlight panel was embossed with the Christmas Tidings Folder and then I ran my Craft ink pad over the Cardstock to give it a whitewash look.

My card has been inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink challenges #JAI677. I’ve used the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper for the larger square and a ink blended panel for the smaller one.

The little Christmas tree is from the dies and I added a piece of Gold Foil at the back to be the twinkling lights.

I hope you are enjoying the daily inspiration. Please join me tonight at 7:30 pm AEDT for my weekly FB Live for some more crafting.

#tgifc179 Create Your Own Background

The background on this card is one I have been wanting to try out for a while and this week’s TGIF challenge was perfect for it.

I had the idea to create a background with the die cut flowers. It wasn’t as painstaking as it looks because the Detailed Deer die set comes with 4 of these flower dies so you get a whole batch of flowers in one run through the Big Shot machine.

On the other half of the card base I’ve added the beautiful Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper with it’s Copper accents and a border from the Tea Room Copper Vinyl stickers.

I hadn’t used my Seasonal Chums on this year’s Christmas cards yet and I though the cute little deer worked nicely with this card. It has been layered onto DSP punched with the Darling Label punch. This has then been layered onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then embossed with the corners punched using the same punch. The Tranquil Tide velvet ribbon feels beautiful and lush. It tied in with the DSP I had used.

As I didn’t want to detract from the die cut flowers, I tried not to cover a lot of it with the image and sentiment. I have added some pearls to the flower centres. These were coloured in with the Bronze Stampin’ Blend. Although the rest of the card is in Copper, the bronze matches well.
