Kylie’s International Blog Highlights #tgifc236

Hi friends,

It’s Melbourne Cup day over here so we get a holiday for a horse race. The horse racing doesn’t interest me in the slightest but a day off is good and it gives me a chance to get some crafting done.

Kylie's International Blog HIghlight

I’ve created my card for Kylie Bertucci’s international Blog Highlights for November with a theme of encouragement.

TGIF236 Colour challenge

I was inspired by the colour challenge over at TGIF Challenges. These are such pretty, autumn colours.

I used the dandelion from the Sweet Silhouette dies to create the flower, adding a second flower in Calypso Coral behind the white one. Doing this makes the flowers stand out and creates more depth.

The background was created with embossing paste which was coloured with Crumb Cake ink refill. After the brick had dried, I stamped over it with the leaves from Very Versailles. This is a look that I really like as it adds subtle detail. The Very Versailles stamp set gets a lot of use in my craft room. It’s a great set.

Embossing paste brick background, Stampin up handmade card

The baker’s twine was coloured with the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with the elements of my card. I used the Woven Heirloom stamp set for the sentiment. The font in this set is so pretty. Then I die cut it with the Stitched Rectangles die. Over this, I stamped the long textured stamp from Woven Heirlooms, stamping off 3 times so it was a subtle background.

All the products I have used to create this card are listed below. Please leave me a comment or question. I’d love to hear from you. The top 10 winners from this blog highlights will take part in a blog hop at the end of the month and this is decided by how many votes we get. If you have a moment, please click on the Vote for Me button below and vote for your favourites. My card is no. 21.
