Kylie’s International Blog Highlights – October 2020

Hi friend,

Lovely to have you here at Stamping Flair in Melbourne for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. Our theme is about showing gratitude and saying Thank You to those around us.

I made this card as a double for a team challenge I took part in and thought it would work well for the Blog Highlights as well. Each team member was given the same amount of Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper and cardstock and we had to come up with a card.

With some very strategic die cutting I managed to create several layers, a tag and even have quite a bit of leftover DSP and cardstock.

The Stitched so Sweetly Dies are beautiful for adding lovely frames to projects. To save cardstock, I cut out the centre from the larger frame and used it as a tag. I love the bright and cheery feel of this card to say ‘Thank you’ to some one.

With so many flowers on the DSP, I thought some birds from the Birds & More Dies would suit this coordinating floral set.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have enjoyed my projects. Click on the button below to view the entire gallery where you can vote for your Top 5 favourites. I would really appreciate your vote.

Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop January 2020 – Case a Card

Hi friends,

Welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams blog hop. If this is your first time visiting me, I hope you enjoy your visit and that you do stop by again.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop July Designer Series Paper

Our theme this month is Case A Card. Many times I am inspired by others and I alsofind lots of inspiration from the Stampin’ Up! catalogues which I go to time and time again for colour combinations, layout options, techniques and lots and lots of ideas!  I have chosen the layout of the card on the top of Page 4 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). This card involves no stamping at all and uses the beautiful Tropical Oasis Memories and More Card Pack

Stampin' D

I started by creating a panel of Shimmery White cardstock with Pigment Sprinkles. I then embossed this with the Basket Weave embossing folder. By adding this layer onto the Mango Melody card base, it depicted the original card layout.

I fussy cut the central image and added some Dimensionals onto the sentiment sticker to layer it onto the ribbon.

Perennial Essence Easy to Make Butterfly Card

Hand Painted and Timeless

What’s the next best thing to having one of Claude Monet’s painting hanging in  your home? Stampin’ Up! Perennial Designer Series Paper! One of our product designers, Julie Alusa, went to New York and was so inspired by Monet’s works of art, she decided to paint her own masterpiece.

In her own words: ‘While I was admiring Monet’s massive water lily paintings at the Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan, I was inspired to do a Monet-esque page in the Designer Series Paper of impressionistic water lilies.’

My card today uses a very simple layout and to showcase one of these beautiful papers.

Create a handmade card with simple layout using Monet type Perennial Essence paper with butterfly

I attached the ribbon with Tear & Tape then adhered the Designer Series Paper onto card base. The butterfly is part of a large die which has a group (or a kaleidoscope!) of butterflies, I cut one of these off to be the focal point of this card and layered the silver on top of Blushing Bride to make it stand out.

Bloom by Bloom Card with a Simple Sketch

The Bloom by Bloom stamp is featured in my April Class in the Mail. With many images of flowers, some a little bit abstract, they make it so easy to create focal images and backgrounds alike. Combined with the Bitty Blooms punch pack they make some fun projects and you save 10% buying them as a bundle. This set is on the retiring list so get it while you can.

This particular set has become more appealing to me as I’ve used it in softer, pastel shades. I love this flower in Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Blushing Bride and lighter colours. This card is based on a simple sketch and combines Highland Heather, Gray Granite and Whisper White.I love the soft look of this combination of colours.

Bloom by Bloom, Simple Layout,

I’ve stamped the flowers in Highland Heather on the card base. Then I added a panel of Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals range. The Dot to Dot Embossing Folder adds the base for my flower. Embossing folders are such an easy way to add texture to projects.

Bloom by Bloom, Quick & Easy card layout, Simple Sketch, Stampin' Up!, Create a handmade card

I’ve added some Gray Granite ribbon which has been tied off in a knot together with the tulle ribbon to add to the softness of this card. The sentiment is from Banners for You stamp set which will be retiring along with the matching Bunch of Banners dies.

Step-it-Up Sunday #44 Thanks for your Friendship

Home to Roost is the lovely country style stamp set I am using on my Step-it-Up Sunday feature. I just love the rooster in this set and I highlighted the reed which also come in this stamp set, in last week’s Step-it-Up Sunday. Pairing it with the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper really gives it a country feel.

Basic

I have kept it simple for the Basic card because that’s what it’s about. Just stamps, ink and paper and I’ve added some embellishments – because I can’t help myself!

I stamped the rooster on Whisper White cardstock. Then I inked up a clear block directly with the Daffodil Delight ink pad, spritzed with water and ‘stamped’ it over the rooster. This added a watercolour – look over the image. An easy way to add colour to your image.

The flower which is from the Butterfly Elements Sale-A-Bration offering, has been attached with a glue dot.

I stepped this card up by adding die cut squares and colouring the rooster with Stampin’ Blends. Don’t the Stampin’ Blends add a lovely, vibrant colour? You can almost hear the rooster crow.

I added a sponged background to the rooster. This was done by masking. Sponge Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive around the rooster.

I altered the Gingham DSP by adding some lines with the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to give it a bit of a plaid look. I think this adds to the country, homely feel of this card.

The Burlap ribbon has been separated and tied together to create the look of straw.
