It’s time for the Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop with my favourite – a sketch challenge for this month.. By having a sketch, it takes away you having to work out a design style. You can then have fun picking out all your paper and embellishments to suite the sketch. For this blog hop, a few changes could be made while the basic layout remained the same.
For my card, I wanted to use some of our retiring products. Retiring products are available while stocks last. You can find available products here.
I’ve chosen the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More cards which offer options for scrapbookers as well as cardmakers.
I flipped the sketch so it was vertical and added my sentiment to the label.
To start off with, I embossed a panel of Just Jade Cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embosssing Folder which is retiring. This is going to stay in my stash as I love the simple texture of it.
The Under my Umbrella stamp set offers cute images and these galoshes have got to be my favourite in the set. I stamped 2 pairs on True Love Designer Series Paper and coloured them with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
Then I heat embossed the images with Clear Embossing Powder 3 times. I suggest heat embossing before fussy cutting as this gives you a larger piece of paper to hold onto when using the Heat Tool. The second shoe was layered for dimension.
The label was punched out 3 times – Memories & More card, Just Jade and Bumblebee Cardstock – and layered by cutting in half and attaching to the back.
Thanks for stopping by to view my creation. I hope you give the Memories & More cards a try for quick cards. Next on our hop is Jill Chapman.

Hi Friends,
How are you all doing? I hope you are all keeping well and please know that I have you in my thoughts and prayers. It’s a difficult time for everyone and loneliness can creep in. So, I want to bring you some joy in the projects that I make and hope to inspire you to keep creating.
I just received the Stitched Lace Dies in my last order and wanted to use it straightaway. It looks so pretty as a background for this lovely umbrella from the Under my Umbrella bundle. The images in the Under my Umbrella stamp set remind me of storybook images and pictures I used to dream up in my mind when reading Enid Blyton stories. They’re so cute.
I sponged the banner with Blushing Bride on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. I had planned on doing some watercolouring but then decided against it, so you could use just regular Whisper White cardstock for this. Then I trimmed a piece off the top to stamp my sentiment on. A piece of the Copper Dotted Treat Bag makes a nice addition to the banner.
To create the umbrella, I started off by stamping the flowers on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Crumb Cake ink. Then I stamped the umbrella image in Blushing Bride over the flowers.
The punch leaves a white border around the umbrella, which in this instance showed up my flowers outside the lines – which didn’t look that good. To get around this, I punched the umbrella, aligning the bottom of the umbrella right along the line. Then I used a post-it-note to attach to the umbrella image, re-inserting it twice into the punch to get the two sides flush against the lines. You could fussy cut it but I think this gives a better finish.
The ribbon has been pleated using Tear n’ Tape and then secured with another piece on the back. I’m not a fan of sewing so glue is my friend and papercrafting was made for me.
My card has been inspired by the Sketch Challenge at Global Design Project.

Jan 7, 2020 | Blog Hops, Thank You |
Hi Crafty Friends,
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. It’s a fun time in the Stampin’ Up! year with Sale-A-Bration in full swing. You get to earn free products right through until 31st March. I’m featuring several products from both the Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogues for my card today which I’ve created for Kylie’s International Blog Highlights.
Our theme is Thank you – showing appreciation to those around us who help us, show care, provide support. So many people we come across who help us daily – at a restaurant, in the supermarket, at a school crossing, a teacher – it’s a lovely gesture that we can share what we love by giving out a thank you card.
I’ve used the Under My Umbrella bundle to create this cute card. The card base has been embossed with the Stone embossing folder which is part of the Power of Hope Sale-A-Bration free bundle.
The bundle consists of a photopolymer stamp set and a punch. The additional images in the stamp set of flowers and gumboots are really cute.
I stamped the images on the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper, punching out the umbrella and fussy cutting the gumboots. These were layered on the Golden Honey Specialty DSP which is another free Sale-A-Bration offering. The flowers were coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut.
The top 10 winners from the blog highlights will take part in a blog hop at the end of the month which I would love to be part of. To vote for your favourites, click on the button below and it will take you to the gallery where you can click on the hearts to vote for your 5 favourites and view all the beautiful projects. My umbrella card is no. 23.
