Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop – Game On

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share March Blog Hop. Thank you for stopping by my blog Stamping Flair today. I’m a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Melbourne. Our theme today is projects suitable to give the younger men and older men in our lives.

I had chosen the Game On stamp set which was one of my early picks from the 2020 Annual Catalogue which I loved. I paired it with another fabulous suite from this catalogue which is the World of Good suite. This entire suite is retiring and is definitely one which I’ll be holding onto.

I have drawn inspiration from Krista Frattin’s card on the Global Design Project #gdp284.

The set of game cards were heat embossed in White onto one of the World of Good Memories n’ More cards. I coloured in the hearts with the Dark Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend and fussy cut the image.

The rest of the card was built around a variety of the Memories n’ More cards in this set with lots of layering. The distressed edge was achieved by running Paper Snips right along the edge.

By stamping the sentiment on one of the included cards, I was able to achieve a muted tone of Mossy Meadow. Some Brushed Metallic cardstock, together with extra pieces of cards and stickers add some Brass accents to this card.

Pretty in Pink Globe #gdp250

I’ve got another card for you today using the fabulous Beautiful World bundle by Stampin’ Up!  When I get a stamp set, bundle or suite, I always like to try and work out alternate colour schemes. This gives me more creative options than the ones that already come with the suite.

So I’ve gone with pinks for this card. I just loved creating the watercoloured globe. I used our stamp positioning tool, the Stamparatus to add colour using a sponge dauber. Firsty, I added Calypso Coral randomly over the globe stamp then I lightly spritzed with water and stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock. I repeated this process with the Magenta Madness ink.

Both the Designer Series Paper and the Whisper White cardstock have been embossed with the Old World embossing folder. I stamped the trees from the Campology stamp set in Rococo Rose, stamped off, to create a soft background on the Whisper White panel.

The ‘friend’ sentiment was die cut 3 times in Whisper White and once in Basic Black cardstock. The top Whisper White layer was coloured with sponge daubers using Calypso Coral and Magenta Madness inks to coordinate with the rest of my card. All the sentiment layers were adhered together with glue, with the Basic Black layer slight offset to create a shadow.

My card has been inspired by the sketch challenge at Global Design Project. Make sure you check out all the other lovely projects using this sketch.

Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop – Other Celebrations

Hi,

Great to have you stop by my blog, Stamping Flair today. Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share blog hop for July where we are sharing projects focusing on projects other than birthdays.

I picked something a little bit different as I thought of students who would be finishing the school year in a few months. Generally, this would involve some travel but that’s not to be at the moment. However, I created a card with ‘Bon Voyage’ theme for a traveller using the World of Good suite.

My card started with the beautiful Designer Series Paper as the base for my layout. The Brass Foil detail and the vintage look just adds so much character to projects. Next I die cut the globe from Sahara Sand cardstock, leaving all the pieces in place. I used double sided tape at the back to hold it all together.

A label from the Hippo & Friends Dies embossed with one of the dies from the World Map dies adds more texture. To create the feather I inked the stamp with Seaside Spray and sponged the edges with Misty Moonlight. Then I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock. This gives a lovely water colour look. Instead of using the die to cut it out, I fussy cut it, feathering the edges using my Paper Snips.

I think the Campology stamp set coordinates well the Beautiful World stamp set with it’s outdoor elements and the binoculars were just what I needed for this card. Now camping is definitely not me but I just love this stamp set. Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends was used to colour the binoculars and then I fussy cut them out.

I hope you have enjoyed my card using these outdoor style stamp sets. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you liked. Follow the blog hop through for more great inspiration for all the various occasions in your lives. Click on the Next button to see Laura Mackie’s beautiful project.
