AWOW Blog Hop – Case the Catalogue Alternative

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) blog hop.It’s our eleventh month we are Caseing our team members and I’ve had fun with these challenges (more on that below)! For February, we are Caseing our Alaskan team member, Teri West.

Teri loves to do alternate designs for the Paper Pumpkin kits and was selected to provide alternatives for some of the Paper Pumpkin lives during her first year as an Artisan. She is also known for her lovely clean and simple style. Our challenge this month is to create something in Teri’s style which while also Caseing a catalogue project.

I must say I was in a bit of a quandary trying to Case Teri AND the catalogue and it was definitely a challenge trying to come up with a suitable design. There was a lot of thinking going on, I can tell you!

For my repeated pattern I’ve used the medium label from the Forever Florals Dies. This is a bundle that will be released in March. If you did the Virtual Card Making Retreat, this would have been in your kit.

Each die was stamped in Versamark ink with the flowers from the Notes & Totes stamp set (as per the catalogue). On my labels I stamped on 2 corners to create a different look and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to create the emboss resist effect. I then blended over it with Azure Afternoon ink which created a lovely lighter centre.

On the centre panels I added some Metallic Texture Rub-Ons in gold, directing the eye towards the focal point.

While the background takes a little time, I kept the focal point easy by adding the bird and leaf from the Softest Spring Mix & Match Puffy Stickers which are so cute.
