AWOW Blog Hop – Five Years Around the World on Wednesday

Welcome to a very special AWOW blog this month. The team at the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop are celebrating 5 years of creativity, love of Stampin’ Up! and friendship. Each month, on the second Wednesday, we share a virtual hug around the world. This hop was started by Angie Mckenzie from Nature’s Inkspirations who hand picked each of the founding members to start up this blog back in 2020, right in middle of COVID. Angie does all the coordination and comes up with really fun themes each month and I personally find so much inspiration in this hop.

I’m grateful to have been here since the start and today, we welcome 2 fabulously talented team members to our hop – Marga Bultena and Kim Fee.

Unfortunately, Angie is unable to participate with us this month and we send all our love and prayers to her and can’t wait for her to be back sharing her creativity with us. Angie shared with us that while she had the idea for this blog hop, she was encouraged by another of our team members, Anne Marie Hile to pursue it. So today, to say thank you, we are CASEing the fabulous Anne Marie from Stampin’ Anne.

NEW PRODUCT – CELEBRATORY SIPS SUITE

I chose the upcoming Celebratory Sips suite from our May Online Exclusives release. While these products aren’t available for sale yet, you can add them to a Starter Kit right now.

Without planning, I ended up creating a card with a beverage as well and it fit our 5 year celebration today! The Designer Series Paper in this suite is just fun and I was drawn to the colours in it. I fussy cut the drinks from the DSP and then started layering up my card, using different designs of the Designer Series Paper.

For the card base, I’ve chosen one of the new In Colors — Strawberry Slush. This gorgeous colour is actually a returning In-Color, and I must admit, I’m a little bit partial to it! It adds such a fresh and cheerful pop of colour to any project. I’ve substituted the horizontal rectangle on Anne Marie’s card with a circle from the Foiled Frames & Labels Ephemera Pack – another new product.

In this suite there is a set of mini embossing folders called Glass & Gardens. I’ve used the one with the glass detail to emboss a small strip off Timid Tiger (another new In-Color) Cardstock. Adding layers of Strawberry Slush, ties in all the layers and balances the colours together.

I embellished the sentiment with some stamped cherries and leaves. The cherries were coloured with Stampin’ Blends and I used a Blender Pen to colour the leaves.

Some pretty gold ribbon and a combination of Pretty in Pink and Strawberry Slush Gems from this suite, complete this card.
