Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC514 – Template from Jan-April 2025 Mini

Hello and welcome to this week’s Caseing the Catty Challenge. For CTC514 we are Caseing a template (or sketch) which you can find on Page 12 of the January – April Mini Catalogue. These templates have been an addition to our last few catalogues and they are a great way to jump start your creativity.

Each week our Crew at Caseing the Catty start off the challenge with a blog hop and you can join in the challenge and share your creations on our FB page. To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit a project, be inspired by it to make it your own. I’m CASEing the tag template, fifth from the left on the first row.

I made this template my own by turning it into a card rather than a tag. Instead of using the banners from the original design, I cut four pieces of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper to 9.0 cm x 2.5 cm and layered them onto a Boho Blue Cardstock base for a fresh look.

To mimic the style of the original tag, I added a tab from the Labels & Layers Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. Since the tab was a bit larger than I needed, I trimmed it down and tucked away the leftover piece to use on another project — nothing goes to waste!

I coloured the image from the Mixed Florals Bundle using Stampin’ Blends. While I had originally planned to pair it with the coordinating Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper, I found myself drawn to the clean, fresh look of the blue striped paper — it was the perfect choice for this project!

To create contrast between the sentiment and the floral image, I die-cut the larger flower from the Everyday You & Me Dies and added texture by embossing it with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. I just love the look of the imperfect circle this flower shape creates — it adds such a beautifully organic touch to the design!
