Hi friends, Today for our CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC488 we are CASEing a technique from one of the Stampin’ Up! catalogues. There are so many techniques that you will find through the pages and I always say, our catalogues are not just showcasing our products, they are filled with ideas to inspire us.

For the technique focus today I’ll be creating my own Designer Series Paper. There are many examples through the catalogue where you can find this technique. Here are just a couple of samples from the 2024 September-December Mini Catalogue.

I’ve chosen some images from different stamp sets with a birthday theme and used the following colours.

I’m also following a sketch from The Stamping Lounge. This a community for crafters with loads of inspiration, classes, events and more. Our first sketch drop had 50 sketches with measurements in imperial and metric available for download for our member community.

CREATE YOUR OWN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER TECHNIQUE

I wanted to create a fun piece for a birthday card and began with the largest image which was the single present. This was stamped in Azure Afternoon. Then I added the smaller presents in Summer Splash. Around the images I added stars in Crushed Curry inbetween.

At this point I felt this needed some splatters or dots and these polka dots were just the fun vibe I was going for. I stamped it once in Calypso Coral and then stamped another lot in Summer Splash stamped off so it was a lighter shade. Overlapping these images almost creates a look of bubbles.

I die cut 2 pieces of White Cardstock to create the rosette. On this, I stamped the polka dots in Azure Afternoon and blended Summer Splash over it to create another piece of my own patterned paper. Initially I had wanted to add this on my card but it just was too big so I ended up creating it as a gift topper.

I created a coordinating topper for my card adding die cut presents using the Reindeer Fun dies. It was fun to mix and match these products for my card. I added some Gold Foil die cut stars for some sparkle on this celebratory card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to try creating your own Designer Series Paper. Please follow through to Rachel Palmieri’s blog to see what technique she is CASEing today.
