CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC473 – Bundle

Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend as we celebrate a long weekend here in Melbourne for the King’s birthday. I’ll take any holiday I get! For today’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge CTC 473 we are CASEing a project which features a bundle from Pages 57-73 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge, Header

To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit a project which means you can copy the project as is or be inspired by elements of the project to make it your own. Each week the CASEing the Catty Crew share inspiration through our blog hop and then through the week you can submit your project to our FB group.

I’m CASEing this project from Page 62 of the Catalogue which uses the Pocket Thoughts Bundle.

I’ve copied the layout and the repeated pattern on my card by die cutting the Perennial Postage die from Basic White Cardstock. On these I stamped the plants from the Attention Shoppers stamp set and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends.

I then masked the plant with some Masking Paper and blended Pool Party ink around the plants, followed by stamping of the Drizzling Droplets background stamp. This technique is a CASE of the card as well where the sentiment has been masked, although I didn’t realise this until after.

For the sentiment I wanted to bring in a pop of Melon Mambo but the Cardstock was a lighter shade to the DSP strip I had added at the bottom of the card. So I coloured the Cardstock strip with the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend, heat embossing the sentiment in White on top of it. This coordinated much better.

A bit of Linen Thread in Copper clay was added under the sentiment to tie in with the centre stripe on the pots. This is a part of the Natural Tones Linen Thread which is not in our range as yet and is a sneak peek of some upcoming product – yeah coloured Linen Thread!

We really couldn’t have timed this challenge any better because until the 30th of June we have a sale on our stamp and die bundles. Products that are bundled are generally discounted by 10% however until 30th June you can get an extra 10% off the bundled price. During this sale you can also get 10% off any Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine helping you use those dies.

ESAD Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) Blog Hop for the new 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. For my project today I am using the Country Birdhouse bundle which can be found from pages 48-51 of the catalogue and is part of the Country Woods mega suite.

I began the process for creating this card by stamping the birdhouse in Moody Mauve. This was watercoloured using several mauve shades and some Basic Bege for a neutral. The roof and base of the birdhouse was die cut from Fluid 100 Cardstock and individually watercoloured to achieve different effects.

The bird was stamped in Stazon ink and watercoloured in Highland Heather, Petal Pink and Basic Beige for the beak and feet.

On the matte layer I stamped the leaves from the Spotlight in Nature stamp set and coloured them in with Lemon Lime Twist, Light Old Olive and Light Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends. Additional leaves were die cut using the Stippled Roses dies from Basic White Cardstock and I blended the ends with Old Olive ink using a Blending Brush.

I filled in the leaves with die cut flowers which were cut out from Basic White and Pretty in Pink Cardstock. The White flowers were blended with Highland Heather and Petunia Pop ink to give variation.

Some Linen Thread, a heat embossed sentiment and shiny sequins finish off this card which was such a joy to create.

I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared today. Full list of products are available at the bottom of this post.

New at SU Blog Hop – 2024-2026 In-Colors with Citrus Blooms

Welcome to the New at SU blog for May. This month our projects will feature the 2024-2026 In-Colors. These 5 colours of Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash and Petunia Pop are a lovely addition to our colour range.

For my card I’m using the Citrus Blooms bundle and featuring Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock from the new In-Colors. I stamped the image in Stazon Black ink on Fluid 100 Cardstock. Using a Water Painter, I coloured the image in.

For the oranges I used Peach Pie and Pumpkin Pie and the leaves were coloured with Soft Sea Foam and Shy Shamrock. I also added some shading with Early Espresso. Around the image I created a light wash with Lemon Lolly. On the flowers I also added some extra details using the Crushed Curry Watercolour Pencil.

Once I die cut the main image, I used the outer area which I had watercoloured with Lemon Lolly to die cut the smaller flowers.

On the White matte, I stamped the sentiment ‘dear friend’ several times in Soft Sea Foam ink. Then I heat embossed the leaves from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Basic White. Over this I blended Shy Shamrock ink for an Emboss Resist effect bringing out those leaves.

A label die cut from the Countryside Corners dies was blended with Soft Sea Foam ink. I cut this label and added a small portion of it under the white label. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink on the remainder of the ink-blended label which created a cohesive look tying in the elements under the oranges.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and check out my project. Please make sure you follow our hop for lots of great ideas for putting those new colours to use.

AWOW Blog Hop – Sketch with Latte Love Bundle

Awow Blog Hop, Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop where we have a sketch challenge for May. This is my favourite type of challenge and I’ve given the Latte Love bundle a bit of a twist with some new products.

If you are new to our blog hop, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from different parts of the world and on the 2nd Wednesday of each month we share inspiration with you using our beautiful products centred around a particular theme.

When I selected the Latte Love bundle as the product I wanted to use with this sketch, I didn’t anticipate going in the direction which my project took me. As I started creating, I wanted to create a different look with this mug to those I had previously made. I decided to replicate a beautiful Bone China style mug with watercoloured flowers – similar to something you would use at high tea.

To achieve this I stamped the mug in Crumb Cake ink, stamped off, on Fluid 100 Cardstock. Then I took the floral corner stamp from the Country Flowers stamp set, masked off a section, and stamped the floral image onto the mug with Crumb Cake ink stamped off. Using a Blender Pen, I worked on the watercolouring of the flowers, mug and coffee.

The outline of the stamped image was quite faint and I did improvise a little bit with the flowers and leaves where I couldn’t see the image too well. This didn’t matter as it lent to the watercoloured look I was aiming for.

The handle was stamped separately in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold. Once watercoloured, I attached this to the cup. For the saucer, I used the Round We Go dies, watercolouring the base and adding a Gold embossed centre for a matching set with my cup.

Some leaves from the Citrus Blooms dies fill in around the handle and the sentiment. A simple Gold bow and Pretty in Pink Resin Dots completed my vision for this card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my part of the world in Melbourne today and I hope you have been inspired by my card. I would love for you to leave me a comment as you hop through to see Cheryll Miller‘s beautiful project.

Funky Folds Blog Hop – Pop Up Card

Hello and welcome to our Funky Folds blog hop. I’m thankful to Bronwyn Eastley for extending an invitation for me to join the blog hop. I’m by no way a Fun Fold nor a Funky Fold expert. Funky just sounds a little more upscaled than fun don’t you think? So, it’s nice to join this hop and try out some new creations and extend my funky fold repertoire.

My inspiration for this card came from Srushti Patel who is definitely an expert in the field of funky folds! I adapated the sizing of her card to make it a bit larger and tested it on my friends during our last team meeting. It was a winner for sure.

I used the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and this is a really great fold for using up that DSP stash.

The pop-up surprise element is a lot of fun. While I have added a sentiment, I think this would look great with a photo on the inside – think Valentine’s Day, anniversary or special birthday.

View the video tutorial on how to create this card. Please subscribe to my YouTube Channel to be notified of my latest videos.

Next on our hop is Jan McQueen. Please follow the hop through for some fun ideas to try.

Caseing the Catty CTC468 – New Annual Catalogue

Hi friends, Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop and this is my first week participating as a crew member. I’m thrilled to have been asked to join the Design Team and am thanksful for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to sharing creative inspiration with you as part of the team.

This week’s challenge is to CASE the Annual Catalogue. With so much inspiration throughout the catalogue it’s a tough choice to pick just one!

After much thought and indecision I settled on this gift box from Page 46 which uses the Thoughtful Journey Suite. My inspiration was the gift tag and the tone-on-tone background.

Tag

I started by blending Soft Sea Foam, Lemon Lime Twist, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash and Wild Wheat on Basic White Cardstock. Then I added some stripes from the Of Art & Texture stamp set which is part of our Online Exclusives range.

I heat embossed some small flowers in White from the Country Birdhouse stamp set around the Cardstock. Using the Radiating Stitches Dies, I cut a rectangle, then repositioned the die to cut out the tag shape.

Caseing the Catty, CTC468, Case the Annual Stampin' Up!, Catalogue, Ephemera, Layere Florals 3D Embossing Folder, diy card, Heat embossed background, Altering your dies using Radiating Stitches Dies

Some elements from the new Ephemera Packs were added to the card, including the sentiment. These packs provide a variety of ready-to-go images and sentiments.

To depict the tone-on-tone background of the gift packaging, I embossed a piece of Basic Beige Cardsstock with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder. I added a narrow matte layer of White behind the embossed layer to tie in with the White Embossing which also added a subtle contrast. This was added to a Basic Beige Cardstock. New to our colour range, this is a must-have in your stash. It’s a beautiful neutral which I love.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to CASE a project from the catalogue and share it over the on the Challenge FB page. Next on our hop is Lauren Meiklejohn. Please follow our hop through for more inspiration.
