Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop – Garden Wishes

Hello and welcome to our Ink. Stamp. Share monthly blog hop. Our theme this month is Spring/Summer Sale-A-Bration and I chose the Garden Wishes stamp set for a floral take on this theme.

I wanted to show a softer card using the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. For the design of this card, I began by choosing my colour palette. I started off by picking Misty Moonlight which was a colour in the DSP. I do this quite often as it gives me a starting point to pick my coordinating colours. Plus with our amazing colour coordinated products it’s just easy to match cardstock and embellishments.

I watercoloured a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock with Pool Party and Misty Moonlight as a backdrop for the dandelion. Watercolouring is a great technique for achieving a soft look to your projects. Then I added some extra leaves die cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Some extra colour was added with Granny Apple Green and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. The edges of the flower and leaves were sponged with Soft Suede giving some warmth to the stark white edges.

Some Bumblebee Gingham Trim ties in with the dandelion and I’ve added a cute Ladybug Trinket to embellish the card. Isn’t it cute?

I hope my project inspires you to use your Designer Series Paper with alternate colour palettes and have fun creating! Thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

aWow Blog Hop – Favourite Inspiration

Hi crafty friend,

Welcome to our first Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for 2021. I always look forward to this blog hop as we have some fun and unique themes to work with. Our general theme for this month is Our Favorite Inspiration Source with a specific focus on the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and January-February 2021 Sale-a-Bration products. Chris Smith, one of our team members, came up with this fun idea.

AWOW Blog Hop Header

There are so many things than can inspire me – the beautiful work of other crafters, Pinterest (yes, I too do spend way more time than I should on it!), current home decor, seasons, colours. However, the one thing that inspires me the most is our Stampin’ Up! catalogues. These catalogues are pages and pages of inspiration. Countless times I go to it to get sketch ideas, colour combinations (like who would think of Real Red and Flirty Flamingo?), techniques, class ideas.

Just last week, I was in a complete creative shut down and couldn’t get anything happening in the craft room so I pulled out the Mini Catalogue and did a complete CASE of a card. This got me out of a creative rut.

Something else that can inspire my creativity are sketches. I LOVE card sketches or layouts. These just help me in my creative process. So today, I’ve combined both and picked a sketch from the new Mini Catalogue for my cards.

I’ve CASEd the ‘happily ever after’ card from Page 10 and used the Berry Blessings Stamp Set and Berry Delightful DSP. These 2 products are a free bundle which can be earned until 28th February with a $180 order.

I love this bright and cheerful Designer Series Paper which combines with the sentiments of the Sweet Strawberry stamp set to create such fun cards. This stamp set is a two-step stamp set but as I had run out of Poppy Parade ink refill, I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour the strawberries in. I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz, adding a bit of extra colour with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to tie in with the colouring used on the strawberries.

The vellum softens the strength of those Poppy Parade checks. I added a head embossed sentiment on Basic Black cardstock to pop against the bright colours.

This next card uses the Berry Blessings stamp set and I used the same card sketch. Just changing the stamp and the DSP sheet can alter the entire look of the card. I embossed the Vellum with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder to create a different look to my first card.

I hope you have been inspired by my cards to use your catalogues as a tool for getting lots of creative ideas. Thank you for stopping by my blog today and make sure to check out all the other beautiful projects made by the ladies on our team. Next on our hop is Cheryll Miller. Fun Ways with Designer Series – Part 8

Today’s Fun Way with Designer Series Paper is to get out your colouring tools and to colour it in. Stampin’ Up! offers so many choices by way of colouring tools – Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Blends, Ink Pads and when you combine these with your sponges, sponge daubers and brayers you can achieve unique effects.

Colour it in

I’ve taken a piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper and die cut it with the Celebration Label Dies to create this card. The printed image was a light grey so I was able to colour the flowers with a combination of Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. The best part about colouring pre-printed images is that the shading is already printed so you don’t need to do any shading with your colours.

I added another piece of Peony Garden DSP at the back and tied in my sentiment in Gray Granite cardstock. The sweet Butterfly Gems in Purple Posy are the perfect addition to this pretty card. I showcased this technique on another card earlier today. You can view that here.

Fun Ways with Designer Series Paper, Fun Ways with DSP, Peony Garden DSP, Stampin' Blends, Lovely You stamp set, Celebration Labels Dies, Colour in DSP with Alcohol Markers, Stampin' Up!, SU

You can get the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper for $17 until the 31st October. Every $50 spent in my store earns 1 Stamping Flair Loyalty Point. Once you reach 10 points you will get to spend $40 in my Online Store.

aWow Blog Hop – Tag Team

Hi,

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who are from different global markets of Stampin’ Up! On the second Wednesday of each month, you get to travel the world with us, across different time zones varying from midnight to 10pm.

AWOW Blog Hop Header

Our theme this month is Tag Team with a focus on creating 2 coordinating projects. My projects had a coordinating colour palette and design.

My card began with the simple Magenta Madness border on the card which was stamped using the Queen’s Anne’s Lace stamp set.

I coloured the flower from the So Much Love stamp set with a combination of Melon Mambo, Rococo Rose and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Using the various shades of pink gave me more blending options. You can get the So Much Love and the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set FREE during the month of September. Find out how at the bottom of this post.

I die cut the leaves from Whisper White cardstock using the Forever Flourishing Dies. Then I used Light and Dark Old Olive and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends to colour it.

The clear droplets add the look of rain drops on this card.

My coordinating project is a tag created in a similar way to the card. I added a sentiment from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set, using the banner from the Tasteful Labels dies to cut it out.

I hope you have enjoyed the projects I’ve shared today. A full list of products are listed at the end of this post. Next on our hop is Cazz Boylan. Click on the Next button to see her beautiful project and follow the hop through for lots of coordinating, creative ideas.

Pretty in Pink Globe #gdp250

I’ve got another card for you today using the fabulous Beautiful World bundle by Stampin’ Up!  When I get a stamp set, bundle or suite, I always like to try and work out alternate colour schemes. This gives me more creative options than the ones that already come with the suite.

So I’ve gone with pinks for this card. I just loved creating the watercoloured globe. I used our stamp positioning tool, the Stamparatus to add colour using a sponge dauber. Firsty, I added Calypso Coral randomly over the globe stamp then I lightly spritzed with water and stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock. I repeated this process with the Magenta Madness ink.

Both the Designer Series Paper and the Whisper White cardstock have been embossed with the Old World embossing folder. I stamped the trees from the Campology stamp set in Rococo Rose, stamped off, to create a soft background on the Whisper White panel.

The ‘friend’ sentiment was die cut 3 times in Whisper White and once in Basic Black cardstock. The top Whisper White layer was coloured with sponge daubers using Calypso Coral and Magenta Madness inks to coordinate with the rest of my card. All the sentiment layers were adhered together with glue, with the Basic Black layer slight offset to create a shadow.

My card has been inspired by the sketch challenge at Global Design Project. Make sure you check out all the other lovely projects using this sketch.

New at SU Blog Hop – 2020 In Colours

Welcome to my blog Stamping Flair. I am based in Melbourne, Australia and today I am thrilled to be participating in the New at SU Blog Hop for the first time. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world and this month we are showcasing our beautiful new In-Colours.

I chose the Fancy Phrases bundle which includes the Fancy Phrases stamp set and the Fancy Tag Topper punch to showcase the 5 colours – Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight and Bumble Bee. My card bases were chosen from the Neutrals range to keep a uniformed look.

Cinnamon Cider

I find that Cinnamon Cider can be quite a strong colour so I toned it down by adding it to a Crumb Cake card base. The Cinnamon Cider panel has been stamped with the edge of the large stamp in the Fancy Phrases stamp set to create a border right around. The Very Vanilla panel has been embossed with the Old World embossing folder and sponged in Bumble Bee and Cinnamon Cider to create a soft shading. Accents of gold foil and ribbon work well with the earthy tones of Cinnamon Cider .

Just Jade

This is my favourite of the 5. A Smoky Slate card base with a frame die cut from the Stitched Rectangles dies create a lovely combination against the stamped-off Just Jade flowers. I used the Fancy Tag Topper punch to create the black tag. Being able to turn the punch over and align the centre of the cardstock, makes it easy to create smaller tags than the 5cm which is the actual width of the punch.

Magenta Madness

A simple card layout for my Magenta Madness and Basic Gray card. I have added detail with the Little Details embossing folder, running it through twice to get the border on either side of the cardstock. The Glitter Organdy ribbon adds a bit of sparkle to this ‘Miss You’ card. Now that we are back in lock down, I’ve got someone in mind that I could send this to. Aren’t we just so fortunate to have this hobby which we can use to lift up others.

Bumble Bee

This is another one of those fairly strong colours which I like to add in muted tones. I started off by adding a piece of the Peony Garden DSP to my Gray Granite card base. Then I stamped a panel of Whisper White cardstock with the Dry Brush stamp and cut 3×1 1½” strips. The border from the Peony dies in Basic Black works well with these colours and creates an elegant edge to the card. I really like this layout at it’s also great for using up cardstock and DSP scraps.

The outer sentiment does have a second part which I stamped on the inside of the card.

Misty Moonlight

An ombré background from the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper against a Sahara Sand card base was used for my last card. I created a tag from another section of the same DSP and stamped some flowers in Misty Moonlight. Cinnamon Cider adds a nice contrast on this card against all the blues.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed my cards and they inspire to create using our In-Colours. I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment. There is a list of products used on these cards, at the bottom of this post.  For more ideas on how to use these colours, make sure you hop through all the blogs which are listed further down.
