Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop CTC472. Today’s challenge is to CASE a project from the Take to the Sky Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. This suite was the first one I purchased from this catalogue. I loved that it was a masculine themed suite and i really liked the DSP which had some tags and individual images which could be used on projects.
Today, I’ve CASED a technique which is demonstrated on Page 36 of the catalogue with the repeated die cuts used to create an interesting background.
I used the Heartfelt Hexagon punch to create the background, punching out several shapes from Basic White Cardstock, Then I embossed them with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. These were adhered to a Basic White matte layer.
EMBOSSING FOLDER TECHNIQUE
To replicate the centre DSP panel in the original card, I added another embossed punched hegaxon on top. I coloured the background of this shape with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. Then I coloured the flowers with Lemon Lime Twist and Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends adding some lighter shading with Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencils.
Instead of having this as an inlaid panel, I mounted this on top of the shape underneath, adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it more depth.
The cake from the Attention Shoppers bundle was coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I felt this image looked a bit lost on it’s own so I added some flowers and leaves around it. The floweres were die cut from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper while the die cut leaves were lightly watercoloured in Lemon Lime Twist for an organic look.
A bow, coloured with the Dark Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend, brings my little cluster of elements together.

Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. For CTC470 we are CASEing the colours of the Frames & Flowers Designer Seriees Paper. This specialty paper pack is a 12″ x 12″ pack with 3 sheets of double sided paper and 3 sheets of paper with die-cut greenery elements.
There are several colours in this DSP, so picking a combination was fun. These are the colours in the images – Early Espresso, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam.
Here’s what I ended up with.
I used the Enduring Beauty stamp set, masks and dies to create a focal image. The flowers were blended in Lost Lagoon. For the extra detail I added more colour to create a deeper shade.
The leaves were blended in Soft Sea Foam with a little bit of Garden Green at the bottom. The veins of the leaves were detailed with a touch of Shaded Spruce.
I used a strip of the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper for the small panel on the right. This was embossed with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder. On this I added some Pretty Peacock ink with a sponge dauber.
In my stash, I had a panel of Fluid 100 Cardstock which I had painted with Tuxedo Black ink refill using a Water Painter. I cut a thin strip of this and adhered it to some Basic White Cardstock. From this I die cut a label on which the sentiment was stamped.
I added a bird from the Something for Everything Ephemera Pack which I coloured with my Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. To complete the card I included some Petal Pink Foiled Gems. So, I ended up using 6 of the colours!
Next on our hop is Peta Stephen. Please follow through our hop for lots of amazing projects.

Hello Friends, Welcome to Stamping Flair. I hope you have had an enjoyable Mother’s Day. It’s our weekly CASEing the Catty Challenge blog hop and for CTC469 we are CASEing the Mix & Match pages from the Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue.
CASE – Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit.
The Mix & Match section includes Ephemera Packs and Cards & Envelope Packs. These are designed to provide you with simplified options for customising your projects.
I’ve CASEd the this project from Page 21 of the catalogue. The arrangement of the sentiment is in a triangular shape and my design took it’s inspiration from that.
I started off by die cutting a triangle using the 2 largesr Deckled Rectangles. This was embossed with the Fun Patterns Embossing Folder.
This is the first card I’ve created with the Zinnias bundle and the images are lovely to colour in. I used Stampin’ Blends for this image.
I added some elements from the Spotlight In Nature bundle including the circle and butterfly. I inked up the texture image in Petunia Pop and then spritzed it with water before to stamping. I love the watercolour effect that this gives. The butterfly was blended with Pretty in Pink ink, with some details added with the Daffodil Delight Watercolour Pencil.
The card base is a tent fold as a felt the design lent itself to that and on the bottom of it I blended Petunia Pop ink. This added some depth under my focal image. I couldn’t resist adding the butterfly from this stamp set for a sweet touch.
Thank you for stopping by today. A full list of products used can be found at the end of this post. Next on our hop is Rebecca Scurr. Follow our hop through for lots of fun ideas.

Welcome to the weekend friend, Today I have a clean and elegant card using a rather bright colour for our Monochromatic Insta Hop challenge. This week’s featured colour is Poppy Parade. With the colour being so bright I went with adding it in small doses – so to speak.
I created a frame and added a panel of Basic White Cardstock which had been embossed in the centre with a mask from the Foursquare Decorative Masks.
HOW TO DRY EMBOSS WITH A MASK/STENCIL
I’d seen a fun technique and though I’d give it a try for this card. Have you every tried dry embossing with your Masks or Stencils? It’s so easy to do.
Use the same sandwich you would do like you would do for die cutting. You may need to add a shim depending on the calibration of your machine ie: if it doesn’t feel like there’s enough resistance to apply the image of the mask onto the paper.
I die cut a small section with the Elegant Borders dies and added to the bottom of the card for a decorative border. Another one of the border dies was used to blend through to create the little pattern on the butterflies.
The sprig was die cut 3 times from White Cardstock and layered together to add depth as well as making it more stable. I added the Linen Thread and the Cork embellishments to help create a more natural look and thereby toning down the Poppy Parade. The simplicity of this card made it fitting for a Thinking of You sentiment working well with the minimal colours.
I hope you try out embossing with your stencils to see what fun backgrounds you will create.

Welcome to another Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Challenge. This week we are focussing on Tahitian Tide. Just a fwe days ago I received some new products from the Online Exclusives collection which will be released on 5th March. So I chose to use some of these on today’s card.
I generally like to pair a neutral colour with the featured colour when I’m creating for these monochromatic challenges. Black just seemed a little harsh with the idea I had in mind and I ended up choosing Night of Navy as what I call a ‘support’ colour!
I started off with the 3 squares and stamped the Drizzling Droplets background stamp on the smaller squares. This is one of the new products you can order on the 5th. Against the central embossed square, the small dots brought a touch of softness to the layout.
For my featured image I used the Magnolia Mood bundle. I didn’t quite like the floral image that was attached to the stamped leaves so I just trimmed that out and added a different die cut on top. The Tahitian Tide flower is an outline and I glued this onto Night of Navy Cardstock and fussy cut around it to give me a two-tone flower.
A product list is at the bottom of this post to help you place your order. I will update it on the 5th of March to include the new products.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hello everyone, Welcome to a new week. I love the colour palette of today’s card. I didn’t set out to create with this but it just turned out this way and I love the beautiful, beachy tones of this that I’ll probably be using it again.
Inspired by the sketch at Global Design Project Challenges I used the bird from the Inspirational Sketches stamp set as my main image. This stamp set is just my style and I love the artistic look of it.
This sketch is a really classic layout and the offset design lends itself to so many interpretations.
STAMPED BIRD
After picking my Designer Series Paper, I then chose my stamp set. The bird was inked up in Boho Blue then I wiped off the beak, feet and branches with a paper towel and added the Crumb Cake Marker to it before stamping the image. This iwas then coloured in Watercolour Pencils of Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Basic Gray.
OFFSET PANELS
To create the offset panels, I cut a piece of Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper at 13.3 cm x 9.0 cm. I added a die cut Deckled Rectangle on top which was embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.
Banners die cut using the All That dies were embellished with some flowers die cut from the Kraft Note Cards. The natural tones of the Kraft work well against the Boho Blue. A Linen Thread bow added the perfect finishing touch.
During our Sale-A-Bration promotion which runs through until 29th February when you place an order of $90 you qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration reward. Here’s a suggested list of products I’ve put together that would qualify you for a freebie. Please get in touch with me if you would like assistance placing an order.
