Stampers Showcase Blog Hop – Spring has Sprung!

Hello, It’s time for our Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and although not Spring in Australia, who doesn’t love flowers through the year to brighten up their day? With Easter only a week away, I just had to make an Easter card with lovely colourful flowers from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Pack.

Stampers Showcase Blog Header Hop Header Hop Header

This layout would work really well to use up your DSP scraps. This pack of DSP is perfect for our spring theme.

To create this card, I cut 3 panels at 3.5cm and 2 panels at 2cm. First glue your 3 floral panels onto your base card then add the 2 dotted strips on top.

I had a piece of embossed cardstock laying on my desk and it was a little bit short to fit across my card. So I cut it about 2/3 of the way down and hid the join under the focal image. This is a great way to s-t-r-e-t-c-h paper!

Both the square dies I’ve used on this card are from sets that are retiring. These are really handy to have in your craft stash. I have used both these sets so many times and I love the stitching on the Stitched Shapes Dies. I stamped the scalloped square with the long fill-in image from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set, stamping off twice to achieve a softer shade of Daffodil Delight.

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop – Easter

Hi,

Thank you for stopping by my blog, Stamping Flair today. I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Melbourne, Australia. Our theme this month is Easter or spring. I’ve opted for the Easter part but it could easily pass for a spring project.

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Header

I haven’t got many of the current Easter stamps so I thought I’d go for a 3D project. You know all that time we spend on Pinterest? I found this really cute basket tutorial from Rachel at The Little Blue Room. There are so many baskets that can be made but I just found this one a little bit different and it is so easy to make.

I’ve used the beautiful Subtles range of Designer Series Paper as it had just the right colours for my Easter baskets.

How to Make the Basket

  • Start with a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper
  • Score on all sides at 2″ and burnish the score lines
  • Cut up the centre score lines (as shown in image)
  • Mark the 1″ point of the centre side panels with a pencil (halfway mark of the section that has been cut). Now cut from this point to the corners to form the triangles on both ends.
  • Cut the other 4 sections into 3 equal parts (as close as you can get)
  • Take a 1/4″ off sections 2 and 3, counting from the outer end
  • To assemble – Take the longest strips and glue together. Then glue the second row and third row.
  • Finally glue the triangle over it.
  • Die cut a circle from the Tasteful labels dies, fold in half and adhere over the centre
  • Cut a 2, 1/2″x6″ strips of cardstock. Use a bone folder to curve it then adhere to basket.

I used a sponge dauber to ink the edges of the paper in the coordinating ink colour which added extra depth. The small blooms were punched out from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper which offered me every colour I needed for my baskets.

I hope you have enjoyed this fun project and please let me know if you give it a try. Click on the Next blog button to view the beautiful work of Lisa Mackey.

Ink. Stamp. Share Special Blog Hop – Anything Goes

Hi friend,

Thanks for stopping by Stamping Flair today. I’m so pleased that you can join me for this special edition of the Ink. Stamp. Share blog hop. So why an extra blog hop? With many in isolation and not being able to go about regular work, we thought it would be nice to share an extra dose of fun through this hop.

Ink Stamp Share Special Blog, April 2020

Our theme today is Anything Goes, which leaves me free to create any type of project with any stamp set and tools I choose. As it’s Easter tomorrow, I thought an Easter bunny bringing happy thoughts would brighten your day.

Stampin' Up! Easter card with Free as a Bird DSP

I stamped the bunny on regular Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink. Then I added a Pool Party wash with an Aqua Painter. The bunny was coloured in with Early Espresso and Melon Mambo watercolour pencils.

This was then layered on a white rectangle embossed with the leaf embossing folder.

Colouring in an Easter Bunny

I stamped the flowers from Free as a Bird stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. Some leaves punched with the leaf punch have been added to complete the arrangement.

Colour Inkspiration CI#74 Easter Bunny

Colour Inkspirations #74 Easter card

Easter is next week and for my first time playing along with the Colour Inkspiration challenge I wanted to make an Easter card. Our colour palette this week is Night of Navy, Whisper White, Basic Gray and Mango Melody which is inspired by the photo below.

Colour Inkspiration #74

I’ve used the Welcome Easter stamp set and combined it with the flower and leaves from the To a Wild Rose bundle. This is the first time I’m using both these stamp sets.

I created the background panel by stamping the second flower image from the To a Wild Rose stamp set right around the border. This is a really fun way to use your stamps and create interesting backgrounds.

Pigment Sprinkles used with a Patterned mask on a Label with Aqua Brush

For the label I used a mask and Pigment Sprinkles. While holding the mask in place, I used an Aqua Painter to spread water around the open areas of the mask. Then I sprinkled the Mango Melody Pigment Sprinkles, helping it along with the Aqua Painter. I dabbed the excess off with a tissues (because I was impatient!). If you have time, leave it to dry by itself. A second label was die cut from Basic Gray cardstock and cut in half to layer behind the Pigment Sprinkle label.

I tied in the background stamping by adding a separate die cut flower as the focal point, along with a fussy cut bunny with her cute flower in her ear.

Products and measurements for this card are listed at the bottom of this post. If you live in Australia and would like assistance with any projects or making an order, I would love the opportunity to assist you.

Joy of Sets Blog Hop – Easter/Spring

Hi friend,

Welcome and I’m glad you have had a chance to visit me at my blog, Stamping Flair today. The Joy of Sets Blog Hop participants are showcasing Easter and Spring projects this month so I’m sure there’ll be lots of pastels, bunnies and other cute projects.Joy of Sets Easter Header

I combined both themes by creating flowers for spring with a sentiment for Easter.

Stampin' Up!, Joy of Sets Blog Hop, Timeless Tulips, Two Tone Tulips

The two-tone tulips from Timeless Tulips were created by inking up the stamp in Mango Melody. Then I used a sponge dauber to ink around the edges in Lovely Lipstick. The leaves used the same technique with Granny Apple Green and Call me Clover,

Fussy cut tulips framed in Stitched so Sweetly Frame

The Country Home stamp set is a favourite of mine and I think this tin can makes a really great vase for the tulips. I stamped the can in Smoky Slate and then coloured it in Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. A panel of black and white striped  Honey Bee Sale Specialty DSP from the Sale-A-Bration range adds a nice contrast against the scalloped frame.

Stampin' Up!, Joy of Sets Blog hop, Spring, Easter

Extra texture was added by embossing the larger panel of Whisper White cardstock with the Tin Tile embossing folder. The Smaller panel was embossed with the Subtle folder. As I didn’t have any ribbon to match the colours on my card I created my own by colouring it with the Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. I stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and cut out the ‘Happy Easter’ section as the rest of the sentiment which said said ‘happy spring’ didn’t quite work for us Down Under!

Thanks for stopping by and  I hope you have been inspired to share your creativity by giving out some Easter cards.
