Welcome to this week’s Monochromatic challenge with the Crafty Collaborations team. Some of you would probably know that when Lemon Lime Twist was an In-Color a few years back, I had an avid dislike of the colour and was so glad when it’s 2 year tenure came to an end! And here’s the twist (pun intended): it seems that the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” holds some truth! This time around I have a bit of a fondness for this colour.
Going through my stamp sets, working out what I wanted to use for this colour, I pulled out the Chantilly Lace set. I purchased this set solely for the lace image it had and I wanted to feature it on this card. As I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it, I took a 1/4 sheet of White Cardstock and stamped 2 of the lace images in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Then I splattered some dots with the Dark Black Stampin’ Blend.
My next idea was to use the Perennial Postage die to cut out some squares. After cutting 4 out, I opted for 3 with this fun sketch and layered them on White and then Black Cardstock for dimension.
I chose a line art floral image from the Fully Flowering Ephera pack, adding fussy cut and die cut leaves to create an arrangement around it.
I layered the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Saying Something Mix & Match Ephemera Pack onto Crumb Cake Cardstock. Having tried Basic Black as a matte layer, I felt the card, as a whole, was too stark and harsh for my style. By adding the Crumb Cake layer and some Linen Thread, it softened the look.
This is a really quick card to put together with the pre-designed pieces in our ephemera packs making it extra quick. Order the products to make this card in my Online Store or contact me to place your order.
Will you be trying out this sketch? I hope you enjoy your weekend and have some crafty time.

Hi friends, Welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge. For CTC494 we are CASEing a sketch from the beautiful Splendid Autumn suite in the Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini Catalogue.
The crew are CASEing the sketch on the Wild Wheat card on the right. Don’t forget to share your cards you create using this sketch, on our FB group.
New product alert!
I got some new goodies this week and I thought I’d use them for the first time on this card. The Happy Hibiscus bundle will be available for purchase on the 5th of November as part of our Online Exclusives range. Demonstrators had the opportunity to purchase this a month earlier in pre-order.
This bundle includes a stamp set and a hybrid die set and embossing folder. It’s simply beautiful.
The stamp set is a two-step stamp set which means that you can stamp the outline and then there is a separate stamp to fill-in the inside with colour. This makes colouring an image very quick. What I found with this particular set was that it was extra easy to line up those images as well.
Now, if you are a colouring enthusiast, like me, you can choose to colour those images as well. However, in this case, I went with stamping. I did add some extra detail on the flowers and the leaves with Watercolour Pencils which adds some lovely highlights.
To form the rectangle part of the sketch, I die cut a label from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper using the Radiating Stitches dies and trimmed off part of the die cut. Then I layered the flowers and leaves on top of it. The sentiment was die cut with the label die which comes in the bundle and layered on a couple of strips of paper from the same pack.
I embellished my card with some Twisted Gold Thread (another new product you will LOVE) and sequins in multiple colours.
If you would like to order this product on the 5th, you can do so Online or let me know and I can put through an order for you. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ve loved this sneak peek of the Happy Hibiscus bundle. My newsletter subscribers will receive a tutorial for this card. Welcome to another week at the CASEing the Catty Challenge. We are CASEing a bundle from pages 39-50 of the Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini Catalogue for CTC489.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO CASE?
To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit and when you CASE you can be copy the project directly or be inspired by elements of it to make it your own.
I’m CASEing this card from Page 47 which uses the Sweetest Star bundle and I loved the simple layout of this card with the ribbon forming 2 strips for the focal element to lay on.
I have created a similar look by adding a strip of Country Lace Designer Series Paper and layering ribbon on top of it.
I chose the cute house from the Humble Home bundle as my focal image and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. As I placed it over my vertical strip I felt the image got a bit lost so I layered it on top of a punched Heartfelt Hexagon. This created a fuller focal point against the rest of my card.
On the matte layer of Summer Splash Cardstock, I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Frozen Edges stamp set and then blended Summer Splash ink over it for a contrast against the card base. Some Melon Mambo candy canes add a touch of brightness along with the glimmer star which I coloured over with the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend. A few Tinsel Gems sprinkled over the snowflakes complete this card.
Join me on my FB page tonight at 7:30 pm as I share with you an alternate version of this card and give you tips for recreating it.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to try creating your own Designer Series Paper. Please follow through to Rachel Palmieri’s blog to see what technique she is CASEing today.

Today’s Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop features Soft Sea Foam. This green is one of my favourite colours and is from our Subtles Collection. Resisting the obvious choice of going leaves, I went with creating my own Christmas gifts for this challenge.
Using the Reindeer Dies and Merriest Trees dies, I die cut the presents and bows from Designer Series Paper and Specialty Paper.
I created 2 panels from embossed Cardstock to form my sketch and layered the gifts on top. The varying textures of White Cardstock create an elegant combination with the ‘wrapped’ presents.
The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray as I liked the softer look of this instead of Black and felt it worked nicely with the Soft Sea Foam. A few Drusy embellishments complete this monochromatic card.

With the launch of a new catalogue last Tuesday, this week’s CTC 486 CASEing the Catty Challenge is to CASE the Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini Catalogue.
I can’t go past a sketch so I picked this card from Page 30 which uses the Nests of Winter Suite. I substituted the products with the Regal Winter suite.
My colour palette was determined by the sheet of Regal Winter Designer Series Paper I chose for my card which had rich hues of blue and purple on it.
I started by stamping the flowers and leaves, choosing 2 coordinating colours to create depth and more cohesiveness with the Designer Series Paper. The flowers were inked in Gorgeous Grape and then I added Night of Navy direct to the stamp with a Blending Brush before stamping each flower. I did the same with the leaves using Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.
I clustered the flowers and leaves with some additional foliage from the Thoughtful Wishes dies. These were die cut from a Basic White Cardstock panel blended with Night of Navy, Gorgeous Grape and Smoky Slate ink. This technique provides beautiful shading on leaves and I was able to coordinate it to the leaves on the Designer Series Paper.
The patterned paper was layered onto a panel of Gorgeous Grape which had been blended with Night of Navy ink. This made the Cardstock tone better with the DSP. To resemble the white panel on the original card I added a thin strip of Silver Foil.
Behind the flowers I added a label from the Regal Flora dies which I die cut from another sheet of Regal Winter DSP. I cut this in half and offset it and arranged the flowers around it. A heat embossed sentiment in silver and some pearls complete this card.
I hope you consider adding the stunning Regal Winter suite to your collection. It includes specialty paper as well and with a range of sentiments, you will find many ways to create with it.

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and this week we are CASEing this fun sketch which is on Page 25 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.
I’ve created a Christmas card using the Golden Greenery bundle which is part of our Online Exclusives collection.
The suite this bundle is part of includes some beautiful Designer Series Paper which is in tones of green and I wanted to give this card a slightly softer look by changing the colours. Of course, I went with pink!
I created 2 square frames using the Stylish Shapes dies and added a piece of Graceful Greenery Vellum behind it. I love how the Vellum adds that softness while still being able to see the Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper behind it. From 6th – 31st August you can get this paper and several others on sale at 15% discount so make sure to hop back and check that out.
The outline of the bells were stamped in Petunia Pop, stamped off and the main image was stamped in Pretty in Pink, stamped off. I added detail onto the bells with Watercolour Pencils. I die cut some leaves from Basic White Cardstock and blended a range of colours to add some shading to them, trimming them down so they fit around they bells.
A trio of white flowers, coloured with Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends, layered together, created the flower which is on top of a bow which was also made from Bright & Beautiful DSP.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this alternate take with this bundle. Let me know what you think of it by leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you.
