Celebratory Sips – How to Use Small Images as Focal Points
For this card in my Celebratory Sips Card Creations Series, I wanted to highlight some smaller images in the Cheers & Sips Bundle. I chose the strawberries and some of the leaves in the set to create the focal point on my card.

Celebrating World Watercolouring Month, I watercoloured the strawberries with ink. As the images are small, I chose not to use ink refills, instead, opting for inking up a Clear Block from the ink pad and using the Block as a palette. While technically, this is using ink refills, for smaller images such as these, it gives me a little bit more control applying it this way.

I embossed the smaller arch with the Glass Embossing Folder from the Glass & Garden Mini Embossing Folders which are part of the suite. The additional detail on the side provides some extra interest on this piece.

Tips for Using Smaller Images as Focal Points
💡 Use Grouping for Impact
One small image might get lost on a card front—but when you cluster multiples together (like the trio of strawberries here), you create a stronger focal element. I surrounded the berries with a mix of leafy die cuts to enhance the fullness and depth of the arrangement.
🎨 Watercolour in Miniature
In honour of World Watercolouring Month, I watercoloured the strawberries using Stampin’ Up! ink pads. For small images like these, I prefer to press my ink pad onto a clear block to use as a palette. Adding a range of colours to create depth, gives a lovely detail to these images which draws the eye to them.
🧱 Add Texture for Balance
To complement the focal cluster, I added texture to the smaller arch panel using the Glass Embossing Folder from the Glass & Garden Mini Embossing Folders. It adds subtle dimension, providing interest in the white space, without overpowering the delicate details of the strawberries.
✏️ Offset Your Sentiment
Balancing the visual weight is key. I tucked the sentiment on the opposite corner of the arch, allowing it to balance the strawberry cluster.
