I have just unpacked my box of new products and with so much choice I picked this cute turtle to create this Fancy Fold Easel card. The Turtle Friends bundle which is on Page 56 of the Annual Catalogue includes a fun stamp set and coordinating punch. Punches enable quick creations and that’s always a good thing when I’m in need of a card in a hurry.

Yes, I’m a cardmaker but I can be very slack with sending cards out on time. How cute is this card for those times when you miss a special someone’s birthday?

Easel Fold Measurements

Cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm (score at 5.2cm and 10.5cm on the long side)
DSP panels – 9.9cm x 7.1cm (2 pieces), 9.9cm x 14.2cm (for the inside)
Mountain Fold the score lines
The sentiment is propped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals so the card can sit up.

I stamped the turtle outline in Early Espresso. The shell was inked up in Old Olive and then I added some Evening Evergreen around the edges of the stamp using a sponge dauber. This gave the shell some nice variation in colour. Once I stamped the image, I coloured around the turtle with a combination of Old Olive and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

For the inside of the card, I fussy cut the pot and leaves from the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP, adding a slit with my Paper Snips so the leaves could fit inside the pot. I added some extra shading with Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. These 2 sentiments are one stamp which I cut in half to give me more ways to use them. It’s really easy to do and once you cut the first one … the possibilities are endless!
