What’s your feeling about Pretty Peacock? Well, I’ll share with you my experience with this colour which is part of our Regals collection and one that we are highlighting for our Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop this week.
Back in 2019, Pretty Peacock came in as one of our 5 new In-Colors for the 2019-2021 range. During that time I had a bit of trouble warming up to this colour and was quite pleased when it’s tenure came to an end! However, it seems like I was in the minority because it returned last year as one of our core colours.
It’s funny how over time one’s tastes and styles can change. I don’t mind Pretty Peacock now and these monochromatic challenges are definitely getting me creating with colours out of my comfort zone.
So for my card today the first element that came together was the 3D flowers.
3D FLOWERS
To create each one, I die cut 3 of the flower shapes from Vellum using the Flowers of Beauty dies. I used the Graceful Greenery Vellum which is in our Online Exclusives range.
Then I coloured each one with Pretty Peacock ink using a Water Painter. Once dry, I went around the edges with a Bone Folder and pushed in the centre with the Bone Folder on a Piercing Mat. This curved the edges up. Then I glued the 3 die cuts together to form the flower.
For added texture I embossed the postage die with one of the Flowers of Beauty dies which formed a beautiful impression on the Cardstock.
Some Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems finish this card off along with a simple sentiment from the Charming Duck Pond stamp set.

Hello Friday! Today, I’m sharing a card that I created last week on my Wednesday night FB Live. Over the course of the month I created some Christmas in July themed projects. I love the images from the Garden Meadow bundle and after having it on my desk to create my monochromatic project (check that out here) I thought it would be nice to create a Christmas card with it.
I chose some cooler tones for my wheelbarrow and added some bright Red flowers to bring in the Christmas theme. The Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper with the trees adds to the cool, snowy atmosphere I had envisioned.
For all my tips and details on creating this card, make sure you watch the video tutorial.

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and this week we are CASEing an embossing ptoject from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Embossing could be heat embossing or dry embossing and I’ve gone with a bit of both for CTC480.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO CASE?
To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit and when you CASE you can be copy the project directly or be inspired by elements of it to make it your own.
I loved this project from Page 103 of the catalogue which uses the Sweet Peas stamp set and includes some heat embossing and CASEd the sketch for my card.
Following with the heat embossing on the original card I used the sprigs from the Heartfelt Hexagon and Layering Leaves stamp sets to heat emboss on the background of the Lemon Lolly layer. Then I blended Lemon Lolly ink over the top section of the panel.
For an additional embossing feature, I added a panel of Lemon Lolly Cardstock embossed with the Dashing Designs Embossing Folder.
I used the flowers from the Labeled with Love stamp set for my focal image. A small butterfly from the Something for Everything Mix & Match Ephemera Pack, was coloured in and fussy cut. These images from the Ephemera Packs are ready to pop out and add to your projects. As I didn’t want a border around mine, I fussy cut around it.
The sentiment was heat embossed on the Unbounded Beauty DSP to follow the look and layout of the original card.
Our Bonus Days promotion runs until 31st July and with every $90 you spend in store will earn you a $9 coupon. These coupons can be redeemed in August. Shopping List for this project can be found at the end of this post.
