Hi Stampers,

Blessed Sunday to each of you. Hope each of you has had a good week and kept yourselves grounded doing what you love with your family and friends. My holidays end today and I am back at my main job in which I do administration at a school. Term 4 always is a busy one. I work with some great people so it makes it nice to go to work each day.

I’m also thankful for my Stampin’ Up! ‘job’ which gives me the flexibility to do what I love around my other commitments. I am able to create and share with others and also earn some extra money. Stampin’ Up! offers the opportunity for each demonstrator to take their business to whatever level we would like to take it to. If this is something that interests you and you would like more information, please contact me on Ph: 0404 255 001.

Step-it-Up Sunday today features the Graceful Garden stamp set. The rose images in this set are so pretty and really lend themselves to colouring with Stampin’ Blends.

Basic

This card is created with some simple stamping and colouring. Stamp the rose image in Gray Granite on Whisper White card stock and colour in with Light Petal Pink and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. I have not used any shading on this but just coloured in the image so it’s a very quick make.. .

Stamp the sentiment in Granny Apple Green. Attach a strip of DSP at the bottom of the Whisper White panel. Then attach this panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto Thick Whisper White card stock.

Intermediate

Stamp the image as per the Basic card instructions and add shading with the Dark Petal Pink and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Fussy cut the image with scissors.

Using an aqua painter and Petal Pink ink refill, create a colour wash onto a panel of Shimmery White card stock 9.9 x 14.2cm. Attach the rose with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto this panel.

Stamp the sentiment and die cut with the Sweet Cake framelits die. Always worth checking die sets for elements that can be used for other projects, especially tags.  I love the lace work on this one. Tie ribbon through with a single knot. To secure in place, attach some glue dots. Attach tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Advanced

To step this card up, I’ve added some extra elements onto the Shimmery White card stock panel.

  • Add Flirty Flamingo to the Shimmery White cardstock as a wash
  • With the mask, add Gray Granite in the top right corner using a sponge dauber.
  • In the top and bottom left use the Stitched labels die to die cut the decorative pattern.
  • Use your aqua painter to flick drops of Flirty Flamingo ink onto the card

Colour the rose with Light and Dark Petal Pink and Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo. Fussy cut and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The doily is cut in quarters. Attach 2 quarters to the back of the DSP strip and trim off any excess.

For the sentiment, I used ink pads to stamp the different colours. Masking off was not necessary in this case as the stamp was easy to ink up from the top and bottom in the different colours. The blossom adds that perfect finishing touch to the tag.

Reminder that World Card Making day specials end today so grab a bargain and stock up on those essentials.
