I think I’ve fallen in love with the ink smooshing technique, Although I had seen this technique on many cards, it’s only very recently that I tried it. So quick and effective and a great way to create backgrounds for cards in a short time. I even had my class attendees give it a try at my full day workshop last week. They loved it.
The basic supplies you need to complete this look are
- Window Sheets [142314]
- Stampin’ Spritzer [126185]
- Silicone Craft Sheet [127853]
- Watercolor Paper [122959]
- Shimmery White A4 Card Stock [121717]
- and your choice of ink pads
Directly stamp a section of the ink pad onto the Silicon Craft Sheet and spritz the ink with water. Using a section of Window Sheet about 3″x4″, pick up the colour from the Silicon Craft Sheet by rolling the window sheet to it. Then apply the colour to your Water Colour paper or Shimmery White Card Stock by rolling and pressing the Window Sheet against it.
Repeat this step of picking up the colour and applying it, until you achieve the desired look on your card. Leave it to dry or you can dry it with a heat gun.
Repeat the above step with the next colour. Each card will differ due to the variations in the ink and water formation.
I really love how this deer turned out in Gorgeous Grape and how all the lovely flourishes show up so well. With the addition of Silver Glimmer paper and some ribbon, it’s an alternate look to the regular red and green festive look.
If you haven’t tried it, give the ink smooshing technique a try. I’m sure you will love it.
