The Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue retiring list has been released and many of our much-loved products are set to go. Generally, In-Color products will be one of the first items to run out. Shop early so you don’t miss out on your favourite papercrafting and cardmaking supplies.
PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY WHILE STOCKS LAST!
The Band Together stamp set and coordinating Detailed Band Dies featured in these cards are retiring. The intricate bands are lovely and you have a nice variety of sentiments to use on the outside and inside of cards.
To create the above card I used my blending brushes with some Mango Melody, Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grape inks on Basic White cardstock. Then I embossed it with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder (now retired). The band across creates such an intricate frame.
This next card has been embossed first and then I took my Rococo Rose ink pad direct to the Pearlescent paper. The flowers were coloured in using sponge daubers – a simple and quick way to add colour to your images.

Aug 23, 2020 | Birthday, Fancy Fold Cards |
Hi,
I’ve got a fancy fold card to share with you today. I was asked by one of my friends to make a 30th birthday card for her daughter. I thought a fancy fold card would be a nice touch for this special occasion. The Arrow Fold Card is one I had seen but not tried and I thought I’d give it a go. surprisingly, it is a very easy fold to master.
I chose my card base colour first and then my Designer Series Paper. After this, I worked all my elements around it. The Peony Garden DSP looks so pretty against the Purple Posy cardstock.
I coloured the flowers using all the purple shades adding a touch of Dark So Saffron in the centre. The leaves were coloured in Mint Macaron and Just Jade. I added a little bit of Light Old Olive to add more shading.
To enhance the bouquet of blossoms, I added more die cut leaves and flowers. The Plush Poinsettia Specialty DSP is beautiful and I love the softness it adds to projects. I die cut my small flowers from it and then shaded them with the Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend which picked up the embossed section of the DSP.
The inside of the card has been kept simple with a DSP sheet that could be written over.I added the ’30’ die cut from the beautiful Velveteen Paper using the Playful Alphabet Dies. These dies are a must have in your craft room as you can make any words and numbers so they are perfect for any occasion.

Aug 20, 2020 | Birthday, Challenges |
My card today combines several styles and I really love how they all came together. The delicate lace, soft watercolouring and the lines of the triangle, a rather unusual combination, blended well to create this Stitched Lace birthday card.
The Stitched Triangles Dies are going to be well loved in my crafting. I’ve already been using the coordinating Right Triangle stamp set quite a lot and find so much versatility in them.
I die cut the lacy background from regular Whisper White cardstocck and then stamped with the Poppy fill-in stamp using Highland Heather third generation stamping. This means that I stamped off on a scrap paper twice so I got a very faint colour on my cardstock. Then I stamped with Seaside Spray giving the stamp a circular twist while stamping so the image wasn’t defined. I spritzed some water over the colours to give it a watercolour wash look, taking care not to saturate the cardstock. Using a heat gun on Setting 1 speeds up the drying process.
The Plush Poinsettia Vellum DSP creates some beautiful flowers using the Small Bloom punch. I’ve dotted the centres with the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots.
The linen thread is a strand I pulled out from the Tri-colour linen tread in the Flowers for Every Season combo. Once you do this you will still have the silver and white to use on another project.
I’ve been inspired by the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges #TGIFC277 for this card. All the products I have used for this card are listed below. To order, click on any of the products which will take you to my Online Store.

Today, I’ve got a card showing you a fun way to create a background with the Best Plaid Builder Dies. You know how they say crafters don’t throw anything away? This card came as a result of a ‘oh, I just can’t bear to throw that away’ moment. I created a card last week using the Best Plaid Builder dies. You can see the original card here.
I used Shimmery White cardstock to create a watercoloured background. Once I cut the plaid piece, I had all these cute little squares laying around. They were too good to throw away so I used it to create this checkered look. Add the leaf from the Forever Gold Lasercut paper and I had a very simple, yet striking card.
Then, I added a tiny bow and it sat for a few more days on my desk. The creative process takes time! Finally, a simple sentiment embossed in gold from the Best Year stamp set layered on Sahara Sand cardstock was the finishing touch for this card. You can purchase the Stampin Up! Best Year stamp set and the Best Plaid Dies as a bundle which will save you 10% off the total cost. Click on any of the product images below to be taken to my Online Store.
